Step 2. Remove the shoelaces

Step 1. Spray water repellent on the shoes
A water repellent will help preserve your shoes and prevent them from being damaged by water. These antidotes are available in the form of oils, waxes, and sprays. Read the manual provided with the product, and follow it carefully. Usually, you will need to apply a water repellent all over the shoe and let it dry before adding the lining.

- Make sure the water repellent is made of leather, and not suede.
