Creating unique birthday cards for your near and dear ones using only a few simple ingredients is not only possible; but also fun! With these simple steps, you'll never waste money on expensive and mediocre cards again!
Step
Method 1 of 3: Color Cards
Step 1. Fold the card
Take any color paper in A4 size and fold it in half. To make it look more creative you can cut long strips of paper from a variety of shared papers to paste into the background.
Step 2. Create the front page
Take any scraps of paper, write down your birthday wishes, and tear them by hand (if you don't understand “hand tearing”, see the “Tips” section). After preparing the head of the card, stick it neatly on the "front page" of the card.
Step 3. Open the card
After making the front page, open the folded A4 sheet and make a fold in the card. Here is a list of some ideas for the section.
Step 4. Write loving words
On the right side of both cards, you can write poems or aphorisms and decorate them beautifully.
Step 5. Add photos
For the left side, you can paste a photo of you with the birthday person and write about the good memories you spent together. If you don't have a photo of the person, you can download it from social media or simply stick a small piece of chocolate or sugar candy and write some creative sentences.
Step 6. Make some finishing touches
You can finish decorating the card by sticking stickers, applying glitter powder, etc. Any little additions you think can make your card look cheerful is a good idea.
Step 7. Done
Method 2 of 3: Poetry Cards
Step 1. Write a poem specifically for the birthday person
Keep it short – the poem should fit easily on the card. You may want to save a copy of this poem for later. In a few years time, this poem may be able to collect some good memories.
Tips & Warnings Personal jokes and common interests can make good poetry topics
Step 2. Take some cardboard
Fold it into a card shape.
Step 3. Give a thumbnail image on the front page of the card
Choose something related to the person.
Step 4. Write the poem on the first side of the inner card
On the other side of the page, print a neat “Happy Birthday” in the center of the page.
Step 5. Color the card
Add long strips of paper to form into a frame. Add colorful touches like glitter powder, sequins or a touch of hand painting. Scrapbook stickers can also liven up your cards.
Step 6. Write your remarks on the front page
Finished! Your personalized greeting card is ready to be given.
Method 3 of 3: Invisibility Card
Step 1. Take a blank sheet of paper
You can use colored paper or white paper; whichever is possible.
Step 2. Draw some candles on the front of the card
Other image designs, such as hearts, can also be used. Cut out this shape. In it, draw balloons or flowers under the holes on the face. When you look at the card that is covered, you will be able to see the color of the design of the image below.
Step 3. Decorate the rest of the card as you wish
Step 4. On the back add funny lines and other finishing touches
You can also add other embellishments like glitter powder, gem embellishments, etc., if you have them.
Step 5. Apply glue around the wax
Sprinkle gold glitter powder for a “flaming” effect! Let it dry for a few minutes. When you're done, you'll have a beautiful birthday card!
Tips
- Homemade cards always feel more unique and special than those purchased at the store. When you make your own card, you can give it a personal touch and decorate it however you want. All you need is glitter powder, marker and stiff paper and you can make it.
- Make it personal. It will be more fun for the birthday child when they can see how much effort you put in. Don't just copy the cards you see in the store. It's okay to base your card designs from ideas you've seen, but add a personal touch to your cards.
- Before you start drawing, make a light sketch of your plan on the card. Lightly draw words and artistic touches with a pencil so you can fill them in later.
- Make sure you let the glue and glitter dry before closing the card!
- Sharpie markers are great for writing words and the bright colors are perfect for painting. Cake pictures are always a popular design!
- Remember: Children born on anniversaries are tired of cards themed around the anniversary. Try to think of something more unique.
- If you can't think of anything, find a funny picture from the internet and draw it. Give funny quotes about friendship or love. Keep it simple and minimalistic.
- To give a good effect on the head of the card, you can "tear by hand". Just write the head of the card on a piece of paper and carefully tear it around with your hands. Be careful not to tear the words apart.
