This wikiHow teaches you how to send a birthday wish to a friend on Facebook. Although there is no official application from Facebook to make regular greeting cards, you can use a Google Chrome extension called Birthday Buddy to schedule a congratulatory post so you don't miss a friend's birthday on Facebook. You can also send birthday wishes directly to a friend's page/profile.

Method 1 of 3: Using Birthday Buddy on Google Chrome
Step 1. Open Google Chrome
The program is marked by a red, green, yellow, and blue ball icon. You will need to follow these steps on a computer because the mobile version of Google Chrome does not support extensions/add-ons.
Step 2. Visit the Birthday Buddy extension page
This application allows you to create phrases as birthday wishes for friends. Birthday Buddy will then use that phrase and send it to a friend's profile on his birthday.
Step 3. Click the ADD TO CHROME button
It's a blue button in the upper-right corner of the extension window.
Step 4. Click Add extension when prompted
It's in the pop-up window at the top of the page. After that, the Birthday Buddy extension will be installed in Chrome.
Step 5. Open Facebook
Visit The Facebook news feed will be displayed if you are already logged in to your account.
If you are not logged into your account, enter your email address (or phone number associated with your account) and account password in the top right corner of the page, then click “ Login " ("Enter").
Step 6. Click Birthday Buddy
It's in the selection column in the top-left corner of the page. Once clicked, a pop-up window will be displayed.
Step 7. Enter the account information
Fill in the following fields:
- “ First Name ” – Enter your first name.
- “ Last Name " - Input your last name.
- “ E-mail ” – Type in the email address you want to use for the Birthday Buddy account.
- “ Password ” – Type in the password you want to use for the Birthday Buddy account.
- “ Confirm Password ” – Re-enter the previously typed password.
Step 8. Click Submit
It's at the bottom of the Birthday Buddy window. After that, an account will be created and you will be taken to the message creation page.
Step 9. Create an automatic congratulation
On the left side of the Birthday Buddy window, click the text field, then type your message. Make sure you click the Name ” to enter a friend's name if you want to include his or her name in the birthday message.
- For example, you could type "Happy birthday, [click " Name ”]!" to create a greeting such as "Happy birthday, [friend's name]" in the Birthday Buddy window. This message will use the birthday friend's first name.
- You can make (maximum) three utterances.
Step 10. Click the Save button
It's in the lower-left corner of the window. Messages will be sent randomly to friends on Facebook when they have a birthday.
Method 2 of 3: Via Mobile App
Step 1. Open Facebook
Tap the Facebook app icon, which resembles a white "f" on a dark blue background. After that, the Facebook news feed will be displayed if you are already logged in.
If you are not logged into your account, enter your email address (or phone number) and password, then tap “ Login " ("Enter").
Step 2. Touch the search bar
This bar is at the top of the page.
Step 3. Type in the name of the friend's birthday
After that, a drop-down list containing the appropriate name will be displayed below the search bar.
Step 4. Touch the appropriate friend's name
The name will appear at the top of the search bar. Once touched, you will be taken to a list of profiles.
Step 5. Select the appropriate friend profile
Touch your friend's profile to open their profile page.
Step 6. Scroll down and tap the " Write Post " text box
This box is below the selection bar below the user's profile photo. After that, the submission window will be displayed.
Step 7. Type in happy birthday wishes
All you have to do is enter the phrase or message you want your friends to read.
Step 8. Touch the Post button (“Submit”)
It's in the upper-right corner of the window.
Method 3 of 3: Via Desktop Site
Step 1. Open Facebook
Visit The Facebook news feed will be displayed if you are already logged in to your account.
If you are not logged into your account, enter your email address (or phone number) and password, then click “ Login " ("Enter")..
Step 2. Review the list of friends whose birthdays are today
Swipe until you see a list of friends whose birthday is today on the right side of the page, then search for the friend you want to send birthday wishes to.
Step 3. Choose a friend
Click the name of the friend whose birthday is today. After that, a pop-up window will be displayed.
If your friend's birthday is today, but their name doesn't appear on this list, click the search bar at the top of the screen, type in their name, click their profile picture, and click the text box at the top of their profile page
Step 4. Type in your congratulations
Click the text box labeled " Write on [Name]'s Timeline… " ("Write on [name of friend]…"), then type the message you want to send to the user's profile.
Step 5. Click the Post button (“Submit”)
It's a blue button in the lower-right corner of the pop-up window. After that, happy birthday wishes will be sent to your friend's wall.
