Taking care of yourself is an important part of growing up. Self-care includes how to maintain health, pay attention to appearance, and clean the body.
Step
Part 1 of 2: Keeping Healthy
Step 1. Eat healthy food
Good eating habits are good for your health, but that doesn't mean you have to stop enjoying your favorite foods. It's okay to eat a little unhealthy food, but most of your food should be healthy. Look at nutrition guidelines and follow them for fruit and vegetable consumption.
Step 2. Get enough sleep
Adequate sleep needs at least 8 hours is very important. Sleep helps restore the body from the inside out. So don't ignore it.
Step 3. Keep fit
Make sure your body is fit and healthy. Try to exercise and/or walk at least 30 minutes a day. Also, stretch at night before going to bed. You'll feel comfortable (and never tense) when you wake up the next morning.
Step 4. Take care of your teeth and gums
Change your toothbrush every three months and brush your teeth after eating. Don't forget to use dental floss to maximize dental and oral health. If your lips are dry, use a special moisturizer, but choose one that contains beeswax, shea butter, or coconut butter.
Step 5. Wash your hands
Whenever your hands feel unhygienic, clean them immediately. Washing hands can prevent germs. In addition, do not touch your face because you will be prone to breakouts.
Step 6. Keep your body fresh
If you're on your period, don't forget to change your tampon or pad every few hours to avoid leaking and odor. If you need a reminder, set an alarm on your phone.
Step 7. Don't smoke
You must already know that smoking is bad. Cigarettes make the body smell, interfere with appearance, and damage internal organs. If you don't smoke, never start because it will be difficult to stop. Seek medical help if you want to quit, or try quitting on your own by cutting back on cigarettes each day. Stay away from drugs (over-the-counter drugs, alcohol, excessive caffeine, etc.). Although some say the substance is harmless, there is no benefit either.
Step 8. Drink plenty of water
Bring a bottle of water and drink it to stay healthy. Water is great for health and most people don't drink enough of it.
Part 2 of 2: Paying Attention to Appearance
Step 1. Take a shower every day
Clean the body with any scented soap (eg, strawberry, chocolate, orange soap). Make sure all parts of the body are cleaned by hand, washcloth, or bath sponge.
Step 2. Wash hair
Choose a shampoo and conditioner that suits your hair type (see advice if you're not sure). When washing your hair, massage it for a few minutes, then rinse it off so the foam doesn't stick to your hair and harden. Don't miss the scalp. If you have dandruff, use an anti-dandruff shampoo. Avoid styling tools that use heat, and if you must use them, use hair protection products.
Step 3. Apply body lotion
Apply moisturizer all over the body after bathing. Avoid the face as this area requires a different treatment.
Step 4. Keep your nails in good condition by cleaning, trimming and filing
If you want, you can use nail polish, but make sure everything is neat.
Step 5. Wash your face
Clean your face at least twice a day and consider the most suitable treatment routine. Look for products that suit your skin type and consider asking for help when choosing a facial cleanser. Use cold or warm (not hot) water to rinse off the soap. Use facial moisturizer as needed. You still need moisturizer even if you have oily skin, but choose a lighter formula. If you have eczema, use an eczema-fighting facial cleanser if you have one.
Step 6. Remove the hair
If there is unwanted hair, remove it by whatever method you prefer. An easy and inexpensive option is to shave, but be careful not to hurt yourself. With the wax and sugar method, hair doesn't grow back as quickly as shaving. Remember, never shave the hair on the face.
Step 7. Wear clothes that meet three criteria, namely quality, style, and appropriateness
Make sure the fabric is of good quality, not transparent or looks cheap. The rule is to use natural materials, such as cotton or wool. Also, make sure you can express your personal style and choose clothes that fit your body.
Step 8. Have a good attitude
Be kind to everyone. If you're not being nice, you'll have a hard time making friends.
Tips
- Get out of the house at least 30 minutes a day.
- Stay fit and eat healthy.
- Pamper yourself a few times a month, such as a manicure or face/hair mask.
- Use facial products that are healthy and natural.
- Maintain positive thoughts and feelings.
- Bring mints or chewing gum in preparation in case you or your friends need them.
- Bring extra pads or tampons just in case.
