This wikiHow teaches you how to upload a photo file to Discord on your Android device and use it as an emoji in chats.

Step 1. Open the device's mobile web browser
The Discord app doesn't allow you to change server settings or upload your own emoji. You need to log in to your account via your device's internet browser.
Step 2. Visit the Discord website
Type discordapp.com into your browser's address bar, then touch Enter or Return on your keyboard.
Alternatively, you can access discord.gg. This address will direct you to the same website
Step 3. Touch the icon
It's in the upper-right corner of your browser. After that, the browser options will be displayed in a drop-down menu.
Step 4. Touch Request desktop site on the menu
The page will reload and the desktop version of the Discord website will be displayed.
- This option may be labeled “ Desktop site ”, depending on the browser you are using.
- If you skip this step and stick with the mobile version of the site, you won't be able to modify server settings and add emojis yourself.
Step 5. Touch the Login button
It's in the upper-right corner of the Discord main page.
Step 6. Sign in to your Discord account
Enter the account email address and password, then touch the “ Login ”.
Step 7. Select the server in the left sidebar
The chat server is displayed on the left side of the screen. Find and touch the server you want to edit.
Step 8. Touch the icon
next to the server name.
The server name is displayed in the top left corner of the page. Once the button is touched, a drop-down menu will appear.
Step 9. Touch Server Settings on the drop-down menu
The “SERVER OVERVIEW” menu will open in a new page.
Step 10. Touch the Emoji tab in the left menu
Look for the settings menu on the left side of the page, then touch this option to open the “EMOJI SERVER” page.
Step 11. Touch the Upload Emoji button
It's a blue button on the right side of the “EMOJI SERVER” page. A list of available emoji uploading methods will be displayed in the pop-up menu.
Step 12. Touch Documents or Gallery.
These two options allow you to select and upload an image file and device, then use it as an emoji in a chat.
Alternatively, you can choose " Camera ” and take a photo using the device's camera.
Step 13. Upload the image file you want to use
Browse to the file on your device and tap the image you want to use as an emoji. The image will be uploaded afterwards.
Once uploaded, the image will be displayed in the emoji list on the “EMOJI SERVER” page
Step 14. Edit the emoji alias
Tap the “ALIAS” field next to the uploaded image on the “EMOJI SERVER” page, then enter a short alias to use the emoji in the chat.

For example, if you want to assign an alias “ :example:
” under emoji, type:example: in the chat to send the emoji.
Step 15. Test the new uploaded emoji in the chat
Open any chat window on this server, type in the alias emoji, and send it as a message. You can see the new emoji in the chat window afterwards.
