Is your skin rough and dry to the touch? Are you tired of having rough skin? Follow these few simple steps and you can do it to get baby-smooth skin fast!
Step
Method 1 of 6: Daily Cleaning
Step 1. Clean the skin at least once a day
Even better if you can clean it twice a day, in the morning after getting up in the morning make sure to drink lots of water. This will boost the immune system!! Also at night before going to bed.
- Facial soap or liquid soap that does not contain salts of fatty acids (soap free) and water is an easy way to clean the skin.
- Alternatively, choose a specially formulated facial cleanser from your favorite brand. Follow the instructions for use.
- Always use a soft sponge or face cloth so as not to injure the delicate facial skin.
- For sensitive skin, bathe every other day or every few days. This will allow the natural oils to nourish the skin. Bathing too often for sensitive skin can cause irritation.
Method 2 of 6: Exfoliation
Step 1. Exfoliate once a week
In general, exfoliating once a week will remove dead skin cells and bring your skin back to a good condition. By removing all dirt, oil buildup, and dead skin cells, it leaves skin feeling smooth like baby's skin.
If you have sensitive skin, exfoliate every two weeks
Step 2. Exfoliate as follows:
- Use an exfoliating potion. You can buy or make your own. Some examples of homemade concoctions are sugar concoctions and honey and sugar concoctions, but there are many other types.
- Buy exfoliating bath gloves. Or, an exfoliating sponge. If you want to make your own, check out the article on How to make an organic loofah sponge.
- Gently rub your feet with a glove or scrubbing sponge from top to bottom to remove dead skin cells and dirt. Also rub the whole body and back. Do this under running water from the shower or in the water in the bath.
- Don't rub too hard; exfoliation should feel good. Don't use this harsh exfoliating ingredient on your face (see alternatives above). Avoid rubbing on sensitive parts such as nipples and pubic area.
Step 3. Dry by patting with a soft towel
This is especially important for the face, as rubbing can injure vulnerable skin. Gently use the towel all over your body and pat dry the very wet parts of your body.
Method 3 of 6: Increase Humidity
Step 1. Choose a moisturizing product that is suitable for your skin type and age
The products you need will change over time, as your body changes too, so if the product you like doesn't seem to be working, this is often a sign you need to switch to another product as your skin ages and needs a different product. Options include lotion or cream.
Step 2. Apply a moisturizing product before leaving the bathroom after showering
The steamy room will help the moisturizing products get into the skin while the pores are still open, thankfully the steam is there. Moist skin is more receptive to moisturizing products.
Use products intended for sensitive skin if you have sensitive skin. Even if your skin isn't sensitive, these products can often help your skin feel softer than usual, but you need to try different products
Method 4 of 6: Protecting Skin Outdoors
Step 1. Wear sunscreen if you are going outside
One of the reasons why babies have smooth skin is because they are not exposed to the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays.
- Wear a hat, long sleeves, and long pants or skirts if you are going out in the sun for a long time.
- A good alternative to sunscreen is organic coconut oil. This oil protects you from the sun and does not contain harsh chemicals.
Method 5 of 6: Bedtime Routine
Step 1. Before going to bed, apply moisturizer on the desired body part to feel smoother
For very dry areas like feet, knees, and elbows, apply lotion or cream before bed. When you wake up the next morning, your skin will feel better.
- To prevent moisturizing products that are applied to the body from hitting the bed, you can use a leather cover. The leather cover will also help the moisturizing product adhere to the skin, where it is most needed. Put on thigh-length stockings or waist-length stockings, gloves (for hands), socks (for feet), etc., and leave it overnight. Take a shower the next morning.
- The image above shows the types of gloves that should not be worn; Gloves like this make hands hot and sweaty. Wear plain white cotton gloves, which are available at places like department stores, beauty salons, and cleaning supplies distributors.
Method 6 of 6: Suggested Homemade Products
Step 1. Make a homemade exfoliating potion:
- Wash your face with warm water.
- Make an exfoliating serum: Put 2 tablespoons of honey, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, and a squeeze of half a lemon in a small bowl/container. Stir everything.
- Rub this mixture into the skin for five minutes.
- For smoother skin, wait for another 10-15 minutes before rinsing with warm water and patting dry with a towel.
Step 2. Take a milk and honey bath for a luxurious way to have baby-smooth skin
Take a warm bath, add a pint of milk, 3 tablespoons of honey (it won't make you sticky), and pop a vitamin E capsule into the water.
Tips
- Using a body lotion that contains shea fat (shea butter) is great for the skin. Shea fat is good for the skin and helps keep it soft, shiny, and youthful.
- Baby oil is great for the skin if you add a few drops to the bath water or rub it on wet skin.
- Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and healthier.
- Liquid soap that is gentle, pH balanced, and soap free is very good for the skin because ordinary soap is very harsh and contains many chemicals that can damage skin cells.
- Lemon juice mixed with honey and a little milk cream will make the skin feel smooth. After applying this lotion for 10 minutes, rinse it off with cold water.
- Do not exfoliate too often because the skin can be damaged.
- Apply a layer of coconut oil to the skin to make it as smooth as a baby's skin, but not too much, because the skin will become oily.
- You can use two teaspoons of baking soda and add a few drops of water to make a face and body exfoliant.
- Add a handful of granulated sugar (brown sugar is best) to your favorite lotion and mix it all together. Rub on dry skin and then clean with a towel.
- The skin cannot get used to various products. If that's true, we're used to vegetables and fruit, and we can't get the essential nutrients and vitamins from the food we eat every day.
- Drink water that is half your body weight, (in this case your weight is in pounds), but classified as fluid ounces, every day. For example, if you weigh 140 pounds (63 kg), you should drink 70 ounces (2 liters) of water daily, this will keep your skin moisturized inside and out.
- Provide shea fat – Shea fat is really great for all skin types and will leave skin feeling smooth, soft and moisturized.
Warning
- All products should be tried beforehand to determine the susceptibility of the skin to allergic reactions. This rule also applies to products made from natural ingredients.
- Remember, the skin is the body's largest and most vulnerable organ. Take care of it!
- Don't use baby oil, the liquid petroleum jelly restricts the skin from producing its own moisture. The skin becomes soft and moisturized for a while but will become drier than before.
- Wear cotton underwear in the shower to avoid yeast infections caused by sugar and honey. Do not do milk and honey bath more than once a month.
