Making chocolate from scratch (starting with processing cocoa beans) is ideally left to the experts or those with a lot of free time. You also definitely won't want to wait for your chocolates! But now you can make your own chocolate. Prepare the following ingredients that you can find in the cupboard or refrigerator.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (220 g) cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup (170 g) butter, softened at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) sugar (powder is preferable)
  • 2/3 cup (150 ml) milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional)
  • 1 cup (235 ml) water

Step

Step 1. Mix cocoa powder and butter until smooth

Pour the cocoa powder and the mashed butter into a bowl, then stir until they are smooth and turn into a paste.

Transfer the chocolate mixture to a bowl (or the top of a double pan)

Step 2. Fill 1/4 of a regular or double pan with water (235 ml)

Place the container of chocolate dough on top of the pan, and bring the water to a boil over low heat.

Heat until hot while stirring constantly. In order not to burn, clean the remnants of chocolate stuck to the walls of the container regularly with a rubber spatula. While the chocolate paste is still hot (but not yet cooked), put it back in the blender to process until smooth

Step 3. Mix milk and sugar

Stir in the pasta, and gradually add the milk and sugar. Stir until the paste is smooth and creamy. Taste and add a little sugar if necessary. You can also add salt as needed.

Step 4. Pour the dough into a special mold or ice cube mold

Place in the refrigerator until the chocolate is frozen.

Step 5. Remove the chocolate from the refrigerator, and sprinkle with powdered sugar

Enjoy!

Tips

  • Don't add too much water or the chocolate paste will be too runny. If it already happens, overcome it by adding a little flour. Good luck.
  • Don't add too much water or the chocolate will clump (a lump that sticks together).
  • Use an ice cube mold for a classic shape.
  • Using a wooden spoon, stir the pasta from the bottom and move it to the top to make the pasta soft.
  • You can buy a wide variety of prints from arts and crafts stores.
  • Add the Chinese pecans to the mixture.
