In Minecraft, Redstone works like electricity. These stones can be used to assemble items such as lights, electric rails, and mechanical items. Redstone is most commonly found underground in Redstone ore blocks, but can sometimes be obtained through chests and mages, or purchased from the Village Cleric. Method 1 of 5: Mining Redstone Underground
Step 1. Find the cave
Redstone ore is usually found in about 5-12 layers of blocks underground. You can search for caves by exploring the world, or digging underground. Caves can be found all over the surface of the Minecraft world.
If you choose to dig a cave, don't dig straight down. Dig diagonally, as if making a ladder. This prevents you from being trapped underground. You don't need tools to dig, but it's much quicker if you use a shovel to dig out the soil, and a pickaxe to dig out rocks
Step 2. Explore the underground
Once you find a cave or underground hole, start exploring. Caves are dangerous places in Minecraft. Make sure you're fully armored, and have weapons, food, and lots of torches with you. Beware of the lava, and don't take any valuables that can't be lost.
- When exploring underground, torches not only serve to illuminate the cave, but also serve as a marker for your trail to find your way back into the cave.
- If there are too many dangerous monsters in the underground cave, try changing the game difficulty to Peaceful mode.
Step 3. Look for Redstone ore
Redstone ore resembles a stone block with a red dot. This ore can be found in about 5-12 layers of underground blocks.
Step 4. Mine the Redstone blocks
When you find blocks of Redstone ore, you can mine them with an iron pickaxe or diamonds. Each Redstone ore block usually contains 4-5 Redstone dust.
Redstone Ore Powder will not appear if the block is not mined with an iron or diamond pickaxe
Step 5. Collect Redstone powder
To pick up Redstone powder, simply walk past it. The powder will be automatically added to the inventory.

Step 1. Find the village
A village is an area containing a collection of buildings, and you can trade with the residents in it. Villages can be found in every biome, but not all biomes have villages.

Step 2. Find a pastor
The priest in the village wore a purple robe. Look for the big tower in the village. This is the best place to find pastors.

This button will display the items that the priest will sell. In the Java Edition, priests usually want to exchange 2 Redstone powder for 1 emerald (emerald).
Step 4. Barter emeralds for Redstone
If he has a Redstone, place the emerald in the barter box, and transfer the Redstone to your investor.

The chest in the Village Temple has a 44.8% chance of containing Redstone powder. If there is a Redstone in the village, scroll through the inventory to get it.
Step 4. Look for the Dungeon
Dungeons are underground caves that usually have mossy stone blocks and monster spawns. Both can be found on every floor of the underground cave.
Step 5. Get the Redstone from the chest in the Dungeon
Dungeons have 1-2 chests. Each chest has a 26.6% chance of containing Redstone powder. Open the chest to reveal its contents. If you have Redstone powder in the chest, swipe it into your inventory to collect it.
Step 6. Locate the Woodland Mansion
The Woodland Mansion is a large, rare structure that appears randomly in the Dark Forest Biome. Dark Forest biomes usually contain more trees and are denser than other forest biomes. This forest contains mostly oaks and dark oaks.
Step 7. Look for the Woodland Mansion
Woodland Mansion has many rooms. Some even contain chests.
Step 8. Check the chest in the Woodland Mansion to find a Redstone
Chests in the Woodland Mansion have a 26.6% chance of containing Redstone. If there's a Redstone in the Woodland Mansion chest, swipe it into your inventory to retrieve it.
Step 9. Find Stronghold
Stronghold (fort) is made underground. This location contains many rooms, a library, and a room with an End Portal, as well as a 5-way intersection.
Step 10. Check the chest in Stronghold to find a Redstone
Chests in Stronghold's altar have a 12.1% chance of containing Redstone, while chests in Stronghold's arsenal have an 18.6% chance of containing Redstone powder. If there is a Redstone in the Stronghold chest, swipe it into your inventory to pick it up.

Method 4 of 5: Taking Redstone from Magicians
Step 1. Find the swamp biome
This biome typically contains daffodils, vines, and dark waters and grasses.
Step 2. Find the swamp hut
In rare cases, swamp huts give rise to a swamp biome. This hut is a wooden building inhabited by a witch and a black cat.
- Magicians can also appear in the world at the medium light level.
- Witches can also appear during the third wave of village raids on medium difficulty or higher.
Step 3. Kill the witch
Magicians have a 16% chance of dropping 1-6 Redstone powder when killed. Witches are dangerous enemies who use potions to cause weakness, poison, and harming statuses. They can also drink healers to increase blood. Witches are immune to magic attacks so be careful.
- The best way to kill a witch is to use arrows. The range of this weapon is further than the range of a magician's throw.
- Magicians cannot attack while healing themselves.

Method 5 of 5: Mining Redstone in Jungle Temple
Step 1. Find the forest biome
The forest biome is a biome that has many plants in close proximity to tall, vines. This biome rarely appears in the Minecraft world.
Step 2. Find the Jungle Temple (forest temple)
This building is like a pyramid with mossy stone. Jungle Temples appear randomly in the forest biome, but not all forests have them.
Step 3. Explore the Jungle Temple
Jungle Temple buildings usually have three floors / levels. It contains lots of traps and has lever puzzles on the ground floor.
Step 4. Look for the thread trap
Jungle Temple has two thread traps. One is in the middle of the hall, and the other protects the chest around the corner. When triggered, this trap will shoot arrows at the player. Get close to the wall so you don't hit the trap.

Step 5. Mine Redstone from the thread trap
Once you find the thread trap, you can mine the Redstone that leads from the trap to the dispenser. Traces of Redstone can be found under the surface and behind walls.
Step 6. Collect Redstone powder
To pick up the Redstone, simply walk past it. Redstone will be automatically added to inventory.
Step 7. Go down the hall to the chest
