Difficult drawings can often be made easily through simple steps. Learning to draw takes patience and practice. Learn how to draw a truck by following the steps below.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Truck Mak
Step 1. Draw a rectangle for the main part of the truck
Step 2. Draw a smaller rectangle for the hood
It should intersect the larger rectangle drawn just now and divide it into two halves; the right side should be inside the larger rectangle.
Step 3. Draw an elongated rectangle for the bottom of the truck
Step 4. Draw four ovals for the wheels of the truck
Step 5. Draw oblique rectangles for the windows and windshield
Step 6. Draw a series of combined curves for the top of the wheel for the fenders
Step 7. Draw a rectangle divided by lines on the front of the truck for the metal frame
Step 8. Add a half rectangle with a curved left portion for the top of the truck
Step 9. Add various rectangles for the windows, exhaust, and gas tank of the truck
Step 10. Based on the outline, draw the truck
Step 11. Add details to the wheels, headlights and exhaust
Draw some stripes, wipers and logos on the main body of the truck.
Step 12. Erase the unneeded outlines
Step 13. Color your truck
Method 2 of 2: Pickup Truck
Step 1. Use a pencil to draw a long rectangle
This shape will be a side view of the vehicle. The rectangle will serve as the entire length of the truck. This is just the foundation of drawing trucks. The lines will be modified and deleted as the drawing progresses.
Step 2. Draw two circles to be the wheels
- One is drawn near the front and the other near the back.
- The two circles must be the same size. Since this is a side view, only two wheels are visible.
- Erase the lines inside the circle created when the rectangle was drawn
Step 3. Make the hood of the truck
- Draw a smaller rectangle above and near the front of the longer rectangle.
- Make the side of the rectangle closest to the front of the truck have a slanted side. The slope will serve as a windshield.
Step 4. Add details to the wheels in the image of the truck
- Draw a circle inside each wheel.
- Draw a third, smaller circle, inside each of the circles drawn earlier.
- Add an inverted "u" shape on top of each wheel. Each side of the "u" should meet the bottom of the rectangle. Delete any visible rectangle lines in the middle of the "u."
Step 5. Create the front bumper by drawing a sideways "u" that sticks to the "u" above the front wheels
The ends of the "u" should touch the front of the truck. Delete any lines from the first visible rectangle inside the "u."
Step 6. Attach the hood to the front of the truck by making a rectangular cut in front of the cab a rounded line curving downwards to meet the ends of the rectangle
Step 7. Shape the side windows by creating the shapes in the cab
It will look like a trapezoid on the very front half of the truck (it has beveled sides). The back half of the shape should be rectangular (have straight sides).
Step 8. Add a mirror by making a semicircle near the bottom side of the window closest to the front of the truck
The flat part of the semicircle should face the back of the truck and the rounded part should face the front of the truck
Step 9. Create the doorknob by placing a small rectangle under the window leading to the tailgate
Step 10. Draw a line descending from the back of the cab to the bottom of the first rectangle
This line will separate the cab from the tailgate.
Step 11. Add another line from the front of the cab downhill to the bottom of the truck
This will form the door.
Step 12. Add any additional details you want
Gas tank cover, stripes, decals and other details are optional.
