This wikiHow teaches you how to upload videos from your computer, phone, or tablet to a new Reddit post. You can upload videos via the Reddit website or directly from the mobile app.

Method 1 of 2: Using Reddit's Official Mobile App
Step 1. Open the Reddit app on your phone or tablet
This app is marked by a white icon with an orange circle and a white robot inside.

There are several mobile apps that allow you to upload posts to Reddit. This method covers the official Reddit app which can be downloaded from App Store

Step 2. Touch the “New Post” button
This button is indicated by a pencil icon in a circle and is located at the bottom center of the screen. A list of upload options will be displayed.
Step 3. Touch VIDEO
This option is the third icon from the left. The "Video Post" page will open after that.
Step 4. Touch the Choose a community menu
This menu is at the top of the post. A list of all the subreddits you have recently visited or subscribed to will appear.
Step 5. Select the subreddit you want to send the upload to
If you don't see the option you want, type the name of the subreddit into the " Search " field at the top of the screen.
Some subreddits don't support video uploads. If you see a message indicating that the selected forum is not accepting video uploads, you cannot share the video to that forum
Step 6. Select or record a video
You can select a video from the gallery or record a new video using the built-in camera of the Reddit app. Videos must be a maximum size of 1 GB and a maximum length of 15 minutes.
- To upload a video stored on your phone or tablet, touch “ LIBRARY ”, select a video, select a cover photo, and touch “ Choose ”.
- To record a new video, touch “ CAMERA ”, record a video, select a cover photo, and touch “ Use Videos ”.
Step 7. Enter the post title
Touch column “ An interesting title ” at the top of the upload window to display the device's keyboard, then type a post title.
Step 8. Touch the POST button
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. The video will be uploaded to the selected subreddit.
Method 2 of 2: Using a Computer
Step 1. Go to https://www.reddit.com via a web browser
If you are not logged into your account, click the LOG IN ” in the upper right corner of the screen to access the account.
If you didn't join the Reddit redesign, you can log into your account by typing your login information into the fields in the upper right corner of the screen and clicking “ login ”.
Step 2. Click the CREATE POST button
It's a blue button in the top-right corner of the page. A new upload form will appear.
Step 3. Click the Choose a community menu
It's in the top-left corner of the new upload form. A list of all the subreddits you are subscribed to will appear.
Step 4. Select the subreddit you want to send the upload to
If you don't see the option you want, type the name of the subreddit into the "Search communities" field.
You can select a subreddit from the drop-down list, or type in the name of another subreddit to search for it
Step 5. Click the Image & Video tab
This tab is at the top of the new upload form.
If you see a red circle crossed by a line when you click the tab, you cannot upload videos to the selected forum
Step 6. Click the UPLOAD button
It's in the middle of the page. A pop-up window will appear and you can select the video you want to upload.
Alternatively, you can drag and drop the video file onto the " UPLOAD " The video will be uploaded after that.
Step 7. Select the video and click Open
The video will be attached to the new post or upload.
Videos must be in MP4 or MOV format, up to 1 GB in size, and no longer than 15 minutes in length
Step 8. Type the post title in the "Title" field
This column is at the top of the post. If you don't see the column, click Post.
Step 9. Add a video description in the space provided
Step 10. Add video bookmarks (optional)
Click the marker that corresponds to the video in the lower-left corner of the video window. You can select “+OC”, “+SPOILER”, “+NSFW”, or other options from the “FLAIR” menu (if available on the subreddit).
- ” OC " is an abbreviation of " Original Content " This means that you are uploading the original video, and not re-sharing it from another source.
- ” SPOILERS ” indicates that your video contains spoilers or leaks of important plot elements from films or other works of fiction.
- ” NSFW " is an abbreviation of " Not Safe for Work " This means that your video contains explicit content that is indecent if played in public.
Step 11. Click POST
It's a blue button in the bottom-right corner of the post. The video will be uploaded to the selected subreddit.
