This wikiHow teaches you how to upload images to the Imgur website, on both mobile and desktop platforms.

Method 1 of 2: On Mobile Devices
Step 1. Open Imgur
This app is marked by a dark gray icon with the words "imgur".
Step 2. Touch the camera icon
It's in the lower center of the screen.
- If you're not logged into your Imgur account on your phone, tap the option “ sign in ” first and enter the account email address and password.
- On Android devices, you'll need to swipe left first before logging in.
Step 3. Select a photo
A list of photos on the device will be displayed on this page. Touch the desired photo to select it.
- If prompted, first allow Imgur to access the camera and photos on the device.
- You can touch multiple photos you want to select at once.
Step 4. Touch Next
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen. On some versions of Android, touch the tick icon.
Step 5. Enter the title of the upload
Type a title into the " Post Title (required) " field at the top of the screen.
Step 6. Edit photos if necessary
You can add a description or photo bookmark in the gray column at the bottom of the screen.
You can also touch" Add Images ” below the photo to select more photos to add to the upload.
Step 7. Touch Post
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 8. Touch Upload when prompted
Selected photos will be uploaded to Imgur afterwards.
Method 2 of 2: On Desktop Computer
Step 1. Visit the Imgur website
Access the Imgur site at
Step 2. Click New post
It's a green button at the top of the Imgur main page. The upload window will load after that.
- If you are not logged into your Imgur account, click “ sign in ” in the top-left corner of the page first, then enter your email address and account password.
- Click the down arrow to the right of the button to display a drop-down menu with several other upload options (eg. Make a Meme ”).
Step 3. Click Browse
It's in the middle of the upload window.
Step 4. Select the image from the computer
If you want to select multiple images, click each desired image while holding down Command (Mac) or Ctrl (PC).
- You can also click and drag one or more images into the Imgur upload window to upload them.
- If you have an image URL address, you can copy and paste it into the " Paste Image or URL " field.
Step 5. Click Open
The photo will be uploaded to Imgur.
If you're dragging a photo into the Imgur window, skip this step
Step 6. Add photo title
Enter a title in the column above the photo.
Step 7. Edit photos if necessary
You can add a description or bookmark in the gray column below the photo. You can also tag users by typing "@", followed by the corresponding username.
You can also click “ Add another image ” below the image to select other images.
Step 8. Click Share to community
It's a green button on the right side of the page. Once clicked, the images will be uploaded to the Imgur site.
Tips
- Make sure you include the source of other people's photos that you upload.
- You can adjust the image privacy settings by touching the tab “ Public ” above the photo (mobile app) or clicking “ Post privacy ” on the right side of the upload (desktop site).
