There are so many different types of icing that you can make for cupcakes, and this recipe will get you started. Find recipes and instructions for the three basic types of icing styles, as well as how to use them. Later you can customize your own for each recipe! Start with Step 1 below, or refer to the sections listed above to decide on your preferred icing model.
Step
Method 1 of 4: Butter Cream Icing
Step 1. Mix sugar and butter
Mix 3 cups of powdered sugar (sometimes called powdered sugar) with 1 cup of butter. Salted butter will work better than sweet cream, as sweet cream butter tends to make the icing too sweet. You can mix it by hand or with a suitable stand mixer and set it on low speed.
Step 2. Add vanilla
Add 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. Don't use artificial vanilla if possible. Divide the vanilla into halves if you want to avoid adding a bit of alcohol to the taste.
Step 3. Add cream or milk
Add 1-3 tablespoons of whipped cream, or milk. Add gradually and beat to ensure the right consistency.
Step 4. Mix until your desired consistency is reached
When adding cream or milk, mix or beat the icing until it reaches the desired consistency. Sprinkle and enjoy!
Warning: don't mix too long, as the icing will become too stiff
Method 2 of 4: Cream Cheese Glazing
Step 1. Mix cream cheese and butter
Mix 200 grams of cream cheese with 1/4 unsalted butter. You can mix it by hand or with a stand mixer that fits into the container and set it on low speed.
Step 2. Add Greek yogurt
Mix in 1/2 cup Greek yogurt. You can also mix applesauce, pumpkin pie mixture, or other ingredients with the same texture.
Step 3. Add sugar
Slowly add powdered sugar or powdered sugar while mixing. Stop when you reach the desired consistency. You will use about 3 cups of powdered sugar.
Method 3 of 4: Sprinkle Royal
Step 1. Mix egg white and vanilla
Combine 85 grams of egg white in a large bowl with 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Beat the mixture until it becomes frothy.
Step 2. Add food coloring
Add food coloring if desired. The number of drops of dye depends on the amount of icing, but usually 2-4 drops.
Step 3. Add sugar
Add a little powdered sugar or powdered sugar at a time and mix until the consistency becomes thicker and looks shiny. It usually takes about 4 cups, but it can also be less.
Step 4. Mix the icing
Mix using your hands or a standing mixer on high speed until the texture is stiff and the layers form small peaks. Add immediately to cupcakes, or store in the refrigerator for no more than 3 days.
Method 4 of 4: Using the Icing
Step 1. Set aside the icing you want to use
Spoon a small amount of icing into a small bowl.
Step 2. Add food coloring, if desired
Add a little food coloring and mix well.
Step 3. Put the icing in the pastry bag
Scoop the colored icing into the pastry bag using a star tip.
If using royal icing, use a regular rounded tip
Step 4. Apply the icing to the shape you want
Use the icing on the cupcakes.
