There are many reasons you should reboot your cable television box, such as programs not loading properly, video freezing (silent), or screen going blank (black). When you reset this box, first try to enter the Settings menu and look for the Restart option. If the screen freezes or you can't find the Menu option, look for the Manual reset button on the cable box. You can also disconnect the power of the crib to do a hard restart if other methods don't work. If you are still having trouble, contact your cable television service provider to resolve this issue.

Method 1 of 3: Rebooting from the Cable Television Box Menu
Step 1. Open the menu on the cable television box using the controller (remote)
Make sure the television and box are turned on so you can see the picture on the screen. Look for the Menu button on the cable television box controller; this button is usually at the top or center of the controller. When the button is clicked, a pop-up menu will appear on the television screen.
- Sometimes the Menu button on the controller has an image of a gear or 2-3 horizontal lines. If you have any doubts about the location of the Menu button, consult the user manual for the controller button configuration.
- You can also try looking for the Menu button on the front panel of your cable box, if you don't have a controller.
- If the picture on the television is frozen, this menu cannot be accessed.
Step 2. Go to the Settings option in the cable television menu
Use the arrow keys on the controller to browse the menu options on the screen. Look for an option that says Settings or Support before clicking OK or Enter. Another menu will appear on the screen with new options for adjusting the cable television box settings.
Some cable television boxes also have arrow keys so you can browse menus without the help of a controller
Step 3. Check the Reset or Restart option in the Settings menu
Look for an option that says Reset or Restart in the Settings menu. Press OK or Enter (enter) after highlighting the Restart option to start the process. If a pop-up confirmation appears and asks if you want to restart, click the Yes option.
If you have multiple cable television boxes at home, chances are they will all fail while you restart the box
Warning:
Resetting the cable television box completely can erase all content you recorded or saved. A pop-up warning message will appear on the television screen warning that you are about to lose content.
Step 4. Wait for the cable television box to reboot completely to see if it's working again
Be patient as it can take a few minutes for the cable television box to speed up again. The picture on the television will flicker while the box is replaying or displaying the load bar. Once the system is back on, check to see if the problem persists.
If you still have problems with your cable box, you can still restart it or contact your cable television service provider
Method 2 of 3: Using Manual Reset Button
Step 1. Locate the Reset button on the front or back of the cable television box
Check along the front of the cable television box for a small circular button labeled Reset. If it's not on the front of the box, try checking the back panel near the power cable.
If you don't find the Reset button on the cable box, try a reset by holding down the Power button. Check the user manual to find out how to reset the box properly
Step 2. Hold down the button until the monitor or light on the box turns off
Press the Reset button and hold it for 10 seconds. You will be able to see the lights or monitor go black and the fans inside have stopped spinning. As soon as the light goes out, release the Reset button.
Step 3. Allow the cable television box for 5-10 minutes to completely reset
When the crib restarts, the light flashes or the monitor displays “Boot” (but). You may also see a load bar or icon on the television while the box is reloading. Leave the cable television box and don't touch the buttons until it's finished loading.
If the cable box jams while loading or you see no picture on the television after 10-15 minutes, contact your cable television service provider for assistance

You may not be able to use another cable television box in the house while rebooting.
Method 3 of 3: Unplugging the Cable Television Box Power Cord
Step 1. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical socket
Look for the cable that runs from the back of the cable box to the wall socket. While the box is on, unplug the power cord from the socket. look at the front of the cable box to make sure the monitor is off.
Hold the power cord by the ends, instead of pulling the cord to prevent damage
Tip:
If you have trouble getting to the power cord plugged into the wall socket, try disconnecting the power cord from the cable box.
Step 2. Plug the cable back into the wall after at least 1 minute has elapsed
Wait at least 1 minute before plugging the box's power cord back into the socket. Make sure the power cord is firmly seated in the socket and does not feel loose so as not to cause interference with the connection. Keep the cable television box power off but the power cord plugged in for a few minutes.
It is recommended that the cable television box should not be plugged into a socket controlled by a switch as this may cause connection interference or loss of power
Step 3. Press the power button on the box so it can speed up again
After you plug the box back in, press the Power button on the front of the machine or on the controller. The light on the monitor box should come on and say “Boot” when it restarts. Wait for 5-10 minutes while the system restarts before trying to use it again to see if rebooting fixed the problem.
