Step
Method 1 of 5: Berry Popsicle
Replace berries with any other fresh fruit to make these healthy and fresh fruit popsicles. Try the melon-kiwi, banana-strawberry or orange-pineapple combination if you want a mixed taste.
Step 1. Wash and process the fruit
Make sure your blueberries, raspberries and strawberries are washed and clean. Remove the strawberry stalks and chop them into small pieces.
Step 2. Make the syrup
Put water and sugar in a small saucepan, heat on medium low heat. Heat the solution, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves in the water. Turn off the heat and remove the pan. You now have a delicious syrup to sweeten your popsicle.
- For a spicy fresh taste add mint leaves to the syrup, then remove it before using the syrup.
- If you don't want to make syrup, you can substitute any fruit juice.
Step 3. Mix the berries and lemon juice
Place the berries and lemon juice in a blender and blend until smooth. If you like pieces of fruit in the popsicle, you can leave some fruit (don't put it in the blender) and add and stir in the blended solution.
Step 4. Stir in 1/3 cup syrup
If you want your popsicle to be sweeter, add more syrup. You can also replace it with grape juice, cranberry juice, lemon-lime soda, or another sweet solution.
Step 5. Pour the solution into the popsicle mold
This recipe will make six large popsicles. If you don't have a popsicle mold you can make mini popsicles using an ice cube mold!
Step 6. Freeze the popsicle until firm
Place in the freezer and leave for at least 3 hours or overnight, until they are nice and firm when you take them out to eat.
Method 2 of 5: Chocolate Popsicle
These fudge-like chocolate popsicles are the perfect way to satisfy your chocolate craving in hot weather. If an ingredient is missing, just replace it with something you already have in your kitchen - you can't go wrong with this recipe.
Step 1. Mix milk and water in a bowl
You can use any kind of milk you want for this popsicle – fresh milk, skim milk, goat's milk, coconut milk, almond milk, and so on. Stir in milk and water.
If you want a thick popsicle, replace the water with fresh milk, milk or heavy cream
Step 2. Add cocoa, vanilla and sugar
Place the cocoa and sugar in a bowl and stir until dissolved in the milk and water solution.
- You can replace sugar with honey, stevia, agave nectar, or another sweetener.
- In addition to vanilla, you can also use almond extract, a few drops of peppermint extract, and other flavorings.
Step 3. Pour the solution into the ice lolly mould
Use an ice cube mold if you don't have an ice lolly mold.
Step 4. Freeze the popsicles
Leave in the freezer for 3 hours or overnight until completely firm.
Method 3 of 5: Orange Cream Popsicle
A childhood favorite that's easy to make at home! This homemade version of the classic fresh cream popsicle tastes even better than the real thing.
Step 1. Grate the orange peel
The fresh flavor of this popsicle comes from the orange peel. Use a zester, microplane or grater to scoop out the orange peel until you get a tablespoon.
Step 2. Mix orange juice, ice cream and orange zest
Put everything in a blender, and spin until perfectly smooth.
- Lemonade or grapefruit juice are also great for making popsicles.
- You can replace the orange juice with a root beer float if you want a root beer float.
Step 3. Pour the solution into a popsicle mold
Step 4. Freeze the popsicles until firm
It takes at least 3 hours. Avoid the temptation to pop the popsicles before they harden – these popsicles melt easily!
Method 4 of 5: Popsicle Soda
You can make popsicles using just one or two cans of soda! Just think about it and use whatever drink you think would be delicious frozen.
Step 1. Choose the type of soda or drink you want
This will be your popsicle flavor. You can make lemonade, grape juice, Kool-Aid, or whatever you like.
Step 2. Carefully pour the drink into the mould
Fill the mold almost full. If you don't have a mold, you can use a paper cup or an ice cube mold.
If and using an ice cube mold, you can make the handle out of a toothpick. Place the plastic over the ice cube molds, and place two toothpicks in each ice cube glass. The toothpicks should have some space between them
Step 3. Let the popsicle harden completely
This will take several hours.
Step 4. Remove the mold when the popsicle is hard
Once the popsicle is completely firm, remove the mold from the freezer. Do not pull on the toothpick or stick, but press from the bottom of the mold to remove the popsicle.
Step 5. Serve and enjoy
If you have leftovers, you can put them back in the freezer to enjoy next time.
Method 5 of 5: Popsicle Milkshake
Step 1. Mix ice cream and milk in a blender
Stir in the blender for about 5 seconds.
Step 2. Pour the solution into the ice lolly mould
Set the timer for 90 minutes. Put the mold in the freezer.
Step 3. When removing the mold from the freezer, do not pull the popsicle stick, as this may damage the popsicle
Flush the mold with warm water for a few seconds. Now pull the stick and you will have a delicious milk popsicle.
Tips
- Try making frozen yogurt popsicles. Follow the same steps as above, but use your favorite yogurt or mousse instead of juice.
- Applicable juices: Crystal Light juice mixes, grape juice, lemonade, Koolaid, orange juice, Gatorade, etc.
- Add sugar or sugar substitute to juices or sweeteners. (especially into the lemonade which can be very sour at times!)
- If you want to make your own juice mix (such as Crystal Light or Kool-Aid), follow the instructions on the package for juicing.
- Serve frozen.
Warning
- Wash your hands before and after handling food, especially when preparing groceries.
- Supervise children while eating popsicles. Throw away the toothpick immediately after eating the popsicle. The toothpicks are sharp and easy to swallow. If a dangerous object is ingested, call for medical assistance immediately.
- Always supervise children in the kitchen. Do not allow them to use sharp, hot or heavy objects.
