Peanut butter balls are the perfect treat for any occasion, any day, and any time of day. Everyone (who likes peanut butter) will love it. When served, these balls will run out in no time! Follow the steps below to start making the balls.
Ingredients
Soft Peanut Butter Balls
- 2 cups (400 g) peanut butter
- 2 cups (400 g) honey
- 2 1/6 (435 g) cups powdered milk
- 2 cups (400 g) crushed corn chips, finely chopped walnuts/pecans, or powdered sugar
Crunchy Peanut Butter Balls
- 1 cup (200 g) crunchy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup (50 g) margarine or butter, softened
- 1 cup (200 g) powdered sugar
- 2 cups (400 g) Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal
Chocolate Layer
- 2 cups (400 g) half-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) vegetable oil
Step
Method 1 of 3: Soft Peanut Butter Balls
Step 1. Combine peanut butter, honey and milk in a large bowl to form a very thick mixture
This recipe makes about 50 ball beans. Adjust if you want more or less.
Step 2. Shape the mixture into as many small balls as you want
Step 3. Dip the balls into the crushed corn chips or finely chopped nuts or powdered sugar
If it's your first time making them, you can try all three and experiment with different thicknesses of the ball layers. You can also make a thin layer of powdered sugar to make the peanut butter more flavorful.
Step 4. Place the balls on the wax paper and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes
The ball will be better once it cools down. This means that these balls are tastier at room temperature, but much tastier when eaten cold.
Step 5. Enjoy
But don't forget to share it with others.
Method 2 of 3: Crunchy Peanut Butter Balls
Step 1. In a large electric mixer bowl, stir the peanut butter, margarine and sugar on medium speed until combined
If you don't have an electric stirrer available, that's okay. Stir by hand and alternate with your friend.
If you use peanut butter, its softness will blend well into the dough (and save you some work)
Step 2. Add Rice Krispies cereal, mix well
It's easiest to do this in small batches, so divide it over several times. Don't worry if the cereal drops or crumbles in the dough, the balls will taste the same. Nice.
Other cereal brands can too. Any crunchy rice cereal will make the same result
Step 3. Shape into a ball
Place each ball onto a paper pancake, either mini or regular, whichever you prefer. There will be 30-50 balls, depending on how big you make them.
At this point, you can coat it with powdered sugar, chocolate, or whatever you want
Step 4. Put it in the refrigerator until it hardens
As previously stated, these balls will be tastier if they are cold. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The balls will last a long time in the refrigerator, but will run out quickly if your family finds out!
Method 3 of 3: Chocolate Layer
Step 1. Melt the chocolate and butter in a saucepan over low heat
Make sure you stir constantly to prevent the bottom from burning. Once the mixture is melted and combined, transfer to a wide-sided bowl.
Step 2. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon (5 grams) of melted chocolate over each peanut butter ball
Or put the balls in a bowl and roll them around with a fork (not with your fingers), if you want the balls to be more chocolatey. Let the chocolate drip over the bowl and place the balls on the wax paper or pancake paper.
Step 3. Put it in the refrigerator
The chocolate should stick to the balls, and the peanut butter will become denser (and also delicious) when it cools.
Step 4. Done
