Are you looking for a way to impress people with your money? If you have a dollar bill, try folding it into a fashionable ring. This ring has the number 1 highlighted as a "jewel," and when folded properly it won't come off. You can also make rings out of five, ten, or twenty dollar bills (or use hundred dollar bills) though you have to be careful and don't flaunt them around. If you want to learn how to fold these coins into rings, keep reading.
Step
Step 1. Place the banknote on a flat surface, with the side facing up
Flatten as much as possible. This ring is best made with a new, immaculate dollar bill. If your notes are worn and wrinkled, you may want to iron them first.
Step 2. Fold the top edge down
Do this so that the crease falls just below the white outline. Straighten the crease with your fingernail. This will mask the white edges so the ring will appear slimmer.
Step 3. Fold the bottom edge up
Do like the top fold to cover the white edges. Straighten the crease with your fingernail.
Step 4. Fold the bill lengthwise in half
Bring the top and bottom edges together that you created earlier. Straighten the folds.
Step 5. Fold the bill lengthwise in half again
Use your fingernail or a pen along the crease to keep it neat and clean.
Step 6. Check the folds
Make sure everything is neatly folded.
Step 7. Lay the money so that the numbers are facing out
Position it so the numbers are facing you.
You can fold under the white border on the right or left side if you wish. Fold right where the white part meets the green
Step 8. Fold the right third up
Make a 90 degree angle from the fold. The position of this fold can be adjusted to make the ring larger or smaller.
Step 9. Fold down through the longitudinal crease
Fold the part of the bill that sticks out up and down at the back so that the crease forms along the edge of the previous fold.
Step 10. Turn the money over
Step 11. Twist the ends in a circle
Take the longer end that is now sticking out to the right and wrap it around the back. Insert the free end under the fold that is now sticking out downwards.
Step 12. Create a "gem
Take the short part of the note sticking out behind the fold, fold it across over the angled crease on the outside of the ring.
Arrange the number one on the outside, then fold the excess end down. This is the "stone" or "gem" part of the ring
Step 13. Complete the ring
Fold the end that's still sticking out underneath and tuck it under the "rock".
Step 14. Done
Tips
- Don't lose this ring. It costs at least a dollar!
- Make the ring larger or smaller by sliding the fold 90 degrees in step 8 further to the right (larger) or to the left (smaller).
- No need to stick with glue or scissors.
- Make the folds as neat as possible. Use a pen to even out the edges.
- Don't wear it when you wash your hands!
- If you like, use plain paper and embellish the ring. Cut the size of a one dollar bill. The dollar bill is approximately 15.5 cm long and 6.6 cm wide.
