This article teaches you how to play Resident Evil co-op mode (with a partner), split-screen, and online. Before attempting to play co-op, one of the players must go through the prologue.
Step
Part 1 of 4: Getting Ready to Play
Step 1. Check the connection
Depending on whether you're playing split-screen or online, your connection may vary.
- If you're playing split-screen, make sure that you and your partner are logged in to your profile.
- If you're playing online, make sure you're connected to the internet.
Step 2. Start the game
Insert the Resident Evil 6 disc into your console, or open Resident Evil 6 via Steam if playing on a computer.
Step 3. Play through the prologue
If you've never played Resident Evil 6, you'll need to go through a cutscene before you can use the game menu. The prologue is about 15 minutes long.
When you're done, press the button Start in the controller to continue.
Part 2 of 4: Playing Co-Op Offline
Step 1. Select PLAY GAME
It's at the top of the menu.
Step 2. Select CAMPAIGN
Again, you'll find it at the top of the menu.
Step 3. Select CONTINUE
Thus, Resident Evil 6 can connect from the last checkpoint checkpoint.
If you want to select a specific level, select CHAPTER SELECT (select chapter) and then select campaign (story) and level.
Step 4. Change screen mode
choose SCREEN MODE (screen mode), then switch to SPLIT (split screen) by pressing the controller's right analog stick.
If playing on PC, click the right-facing arrow next to SINGLE.
Step 5. Select OK
Press A (Xbox) or X (PlayStation) on the controller, or press Enter on the PC.
Step 6. Ask other players to choose their character
Specify the character to use, then press the " Start " button on the controller or Enter on the PC.
Step 7. Select START GAME
It's at the bottom of the screen. Resident Evil 6 co-op game is about to start.
Part 3 of 4: Hosting Online Co-Op
Step 1. Select PLAY GAME
It's at the top of the menu.
Step 2. Select CAMPAIGN
Again, you'll find this option at the top of the menu.
Step 3. Select CHAPTER SELECT
It's in the middle of the menu.
Step 4. Select character and level
Specify the character whose campaign you want to play, then select the level to use.
Step 5. Make sure the SCREEN MODE opsi option set to SINGLE.
Otherwise, choose SCREEN MODE and switch from SPLIT to SINGLE.
Step 6. Select OK
Press A (Xbox) or X (PlayStation) on the controller, or press Enter on the PC.
Step 7. Set network preferences
choose NETWORK SELECTION, then switch to XBOX LIVE (Xbox), PLAYSTATION NETWORK (PlayStation), or ON LINE (PC).
Step 8. Let other people join your game
choose PARTNERS JOIN (join partner) near the top of the menu, then switch to ALLOW (allow).
Step 9. Change the setting location
choose LOCATION SETTINGS (location setting), then change to WORLDWIDE (the whole world).
Step 10. Select START GAME
It's at the bottom of the menu. Thus, you will enter the co-op lobby.
Step 11. Wait until someone joins your game
Once someone joins your game, the session will start.
Part 4 of 4: Join Online Co-Op
Step 1. Select PLAY GAME
It's at the top of the menu.
Step 2. Select CAMPAIGN
Again, you'll see it at the top of the menu.
Step 3. Select JOIN GAME
It's in the middle of the menu.
Step 4. Select CUSTOM MATCH
You'll find it near the bottom of the menu.
You can also change the difficulty level of the game here by selecting CUSTOM MATCH.
Step 5. Select the game option
You can change the difficulty of the gin, the campaign used, the location settings, and all the default game settings here.
If you join a game hosted by a friend, the campaign and the game's default settings must be identical to the campaign and settings of the hosted game
Step 6. Select SEARCH
Thus, a list of matching servers will appear.
Step 7. Select a game to enter
Once you find the game you want to enter, select it and press JOIN. The game will start soon after.
Tips
- When playing online, try to communicate with friends to coordinate attacks, reloads, and more.
- Use an ethernet cable to connect to the internet to increase connection speed compared to using Wi-Fi.
