Many people believe that malicious stares done intentionally or unintentionally can make the person being stared at get sick or experience misfortune. This is usually triggered by envy. Certain cultures believe that this is more common in young children when someone looks at them with hatred while praising and inadvertently channeling negative energy into the child. Read the following instructions to find out if you or your child has experienced it and learn how to recover.
Step
Part 1 of 3: Diagnosing the Impact of Evil Gaze
Step 1. Recognize the symptoms
Someone who is full of jealousy will channel negative energy so that the affected person will experience physical symptoms that are not related to illness, for example: body weakness, eye infections, stomach pain, fever, and nausea. In addition, negative energy also triggers problems in personal, family, or professional life for no apparent reason.
Step 2. Use charcoal
This method is widely applied in Eastern Europe. Drop a piece of charcoal or a matchstick that was once lit into a pot of water. Drowning charcoal is a sign that someone or your child is doing well. If it floats, this indicates the impact of an evil gaze.
In most cases, parents or healers use this method to diagnose young children, but it can be done for yourself
Step 3. Use a candle
Drop the melted wax into the holy water and watch the reaction. If the wax is scattered or stuck to the rim of the container, the person you are diagnosing is affected by the evil stare. This method is usually done by the people of Ukraine.
Step 4. Use oil
Make the diagnosis by dripping oil on the water. Your child or yourself are affected if the oil forms the image of the eye. Alternatively, pour the oil into the diagnosed person's hair so that it flows into a glass of water (preferably holy water). If the oil sinks, it experiences the effects of an evil gaze.
After that, say a special prayer until the oil that forms the image of the eye changes and removes the impact of the evil gaze. Pour the oil while praying to remove the impact from the child or person being helped. You can learn a special prayer from someone who has the ability to deal with this problem
Part 2 of 3: Eliminating the Impact of Evil Gaze
Step 1. Use the touch method
There is an opinion that the easiest way to get rid of the effects of a malicious stare is to have the person doing it touch the child he or she has been staring at. If this incident is not intentional, he should want to touch the child who needs to be healed, for example: on the hand or forehead, not necessarily on a specific body part.
- This method is strongly believed in Spanish culture.
- The effect of a malicious stare usually occurs because someone compliments a small child without touching it.
Step 2. Use eggs
In Mexico and Latin American countries, parents usually diagnose whether their child has been affected by evil stares by holding the egg while walking along the child's body and saying a common prayer (eg the Lord's Prayer) then placing the egg in a bowl and placing it under the head pillow. After leaving it overnight, observe whether the egg shells are dewy in the morning. If it is dewy, this means that the child is affected by evil stares. This method also recovers the child from the impact.
Step 3. Use hand gestures
There are also those who say that hand gestures are able to repel or eliminate the impact of evil gazes. The first gesture, called mano cornuto, is done by clenching your fists while straightening your index and little fingers. The second gesture, called mano fico, is done by clenching your fists while tucking your thumb between your index and middle fingers.
In Italy, many people use small red horns as necklaces or key chains to replace the hand gesture
Step 4. Prepare a six-sided mirror
One way to eliminate the impact of evil gazes is to install a mirror over the window or front door to reflect negative energy. This method is widely used in China.
Many Indians also use mirrors to restore or dispel the effects of evil gazes. Instead of hanging mirrors on the walls of the house, they sew small mirrors on clothes or worn on the body
Step 5. Use the services of a healer
There were those who had the ability to recover from the impact of an evil gaze. If you are in doubt about dealing with this problem yourself, ask a healer who is used to performing healing rituals for help.
Part 3 of 3: Preventing the Impact of Evil Gaze
Step 1. Put on a pink coral bracelet
Some people suggest that you protect your child from the effects of evil stares by wearing a pink coral bracelet. There are also those who argue that buckeye fruit (a bush tree that grows widely in the US) provides the same benefits.
Step 2. Use string or red thread
In Jewish culture, parents usually use a rope or red string as a precaution, for example by tying it to a child's bedpost or the handle of a stroller.
Step 3. Apply a repellent to the baby
In Spanish culture, many babies wear repellent amulets which usually take the form of small fists. This amulet is usually strung with a gold chain with red and black beads.
Step 4. Use the spitting method
When someone compliments your child, spit three times over the left shoulder and then touch the wood or tap yourself three times on the head. This method is widely used in Russia.
Step 5. Spread the salt
Sicilians protect themselves by spreading salt on the floor under front doors or around houses. The countless grains of salt are considered capable of confusing those who spread hatred.
Another way that the Sicilian people do is collect urine in a bucket and then pour it in front of the house
Step 6. Use an eye-shaped pendulum
Some cultures use eye-shaped pendulums to prevent the impact of evil gazes. Pendulums can be used as necklaces, bracelets, or key chains. In Turkey, the pendulum is made of blue colored glass, but other countries use a different material.
Tips
- If you are not sure that you can handle this problem yourself, ask older relatives. Many families teach this knowledge from generation to generation.
- If you want to ask for help from a healer, shaman, or psychic, don't fall victim to a scam. Ask friends for recommendations on whom you should meet.
