This wikiHow teaches you how to remove yourself from a Facebook group. You can do this through the Facebook mobile app and the desktop site.

Method 1 of 2: On Mobile Apps
Step 1. Open Facebook
This app is marked by a dark blue icon with a white “f” on it. The news feed page will be displayed if you are logged in to your account on your phone or tablet.
If not, enter your email address (or phone number) and password before continuing
Step 2. Touch
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen (iPhone) or in the upper-right corner of the screen (Android).
Step 3. Touch Groups (“Groups”)
This option is in the " EXPLORE " section ("EXPLORE").
You may need to scroll through the screen before seeing these options
Step 4. Select the group you want to leave
Touch a group to open its page.
Step 5. Touch Joined
It's in the lower-left corner of the cover photo, at the top of the page.
Step 6. Touch Leave Group (“Leave Group”)
This option is at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
Step 7. Touch Leave This Group ("Leave This Group") when prompted
After that, you will leave the group.
Method 2 of 2: On Desktop Site
Step 1. Visit the Facebook website
Go to https://www.facebook.com via a web browser. The news feed page will load if you are already logged in to your account.
If not, enter your email address (or phone number) and account password before continuing
Step 2. Click Groups (“Groups”)
This tab is on the left side of the news feed page.

If you don't see the option Groups ” (“Group”), click button
Android7dropdown first and select New Groups ” (“New Group”) in the drop-down menu.
Step 3. Click the Groups tab (“Groups”)
This tab is on the left side of the tab “ Discover ” (“Find”), in the top left corner of the page.
Step 4. Go to the settings of the group you want to leave
Find the group you want to leave, then click the gear icon to the right of the group name. A drop-down menu will appear after that.
Step 5. Click Leave Group (“Leave Group”)
This option is in the drop-down menu. After that, a pop-up menu will be displayed.
Step 6. Prevent other group members from being able to re-add you to the group
If you don't want group members to add you back to the group, check the " Prevent other members from adding you back to this group " box before continuing.
This step is optional
Step 7. Click Leave Group (“Leave Group”)
It's a blue button on the right side of the pop-up window. The selection will be confirmed and you will be out of the group.
