Twitter now makes it easy for you to download images from your tweets on any of its platforms. This wikiHow teaches you how to save images from Twitter to your computer, phone, or tablet.

Method 1 of 3: On Android Device
Step 1. Open the Twitter app on your phone or tablet
This application is indicated by a blue and white bird icon on the home screen or application list.
Step 2. Scroll to the image you want to save
You can save an image from your feed or by visiting the profile of the user who shared it.
Step 3. Touch the photo
A large version of the photo will be displayed.
- If the photo you want to save is part of a gallery (multiple photos in the same tweet), you can touch the tweet to view the full photo gallery, then touch the desired photo to open it.
- If you want to download all the photos in the gallery, tap the back button when you are done following this method to go back to the gallery first. After that, select the next photo that you want to download. You need to download each photo separately.
Step 4. Touch the three-dot menu
It's in the top-right corner of the photo. After that, the menu will be expanded.
Step 5. Select Save from the menu
If you haven't saved any images from Twitter, you will be asked to allow Twitter to access the photos on your device. After that, the photo will be saved to the device's image library.
Method 2 of 3: On iPhone/iPad
Step 1. Open the Twitter app on your phone or tablet
The icon looks like a blue and white bird on the home screen or the device's app list.
Step 2. Scroll to the image you want to save
You can save an image from your feed or by visiting the profile of the user who shared it.
Step 3. Touch and hold the image
After a few seconds, the menu will expand.
If the photo you want to save is part of a gallery (multiple photos in the same tweet), you can touch the tweet to view the full photo gallery, then touch the desired photo to open it
Step 4. Select Save Photo
The photos will be downloaded to the “Camera Roll” folder in the Photos app afterward.
- If you haven't given Twitter permission to access photos on your device, you'll be asked to allow the app first.
- If you want to download all photos from the gallery, you need to do it separately. Touch and hold the next photo you want to download and select “ Save Photo ”, then repeat the steps for all the other photos.
Method 3 of 3: Via Twitter.com on Computer
Step 1. Visit https://www.twitter.com via a web browser
You can use any web browser on your computer, including Chrome, Edge, and Safari to download photos from Twitter.
Log in to your Twitter account first at this stage if you haven't already
Step 2. Scroll to the image you want to save
You can save an image from your feed or by visiting the profile of the user who uploaded it.
Step 3. Click the image you want to save
A large version of the image will be displayed.
Step 4. Right-click the photo
The menu will expand afterwards.
If the computer mouse does not have a right-click button, hold down the " Control ” while clicking on the image.
Step 5. Click Save image as
A computer file browsing window will open.
Step 6. Select the location to save the image and click Save
The image will be downloaded to the computer afterwards.
If the tweet contains multiple photos organized as a gallery, click the arrow icon to the right of the saved photo to view the next photo. To save the photo, simply right-click the photo and select " Save as ”.
Tips
- If you want to use a downloaded photo in your own tweet, make sure you mention the user who first uploaded the photo. To mention other users in a tweet, add their username (in “@username” format, like @wikiHow) to the tweet.
- The process of downloading videos from Twitter is a bit more complicated than downloading photos because you need to use a video download website.
