This wikiHow teaches you how to report something and the basics of navigating the Help Center on Facebook for troubleshooting common account issues. This time there is no direct way to contact Facebook by phone or email. However, you can use Facebook's built-in resources to report or resolve issues.

Method 1 of 4: Reporting Problems to Facebook
Step 1. Open https://www.facebook.com in a web browser
This is the main Facebook login page. You should be automatically logged in.
If you are not logged in automatically, use the username and password associated with your account to log in
Step 2. Find the post, comment, profile, video, or ad that is the problem
Posts and comments can be found in the newsfeed, or on the wall of the person who posted them. To report an image or video, click the related image or video to enlarge it. If you want to report a profile or group, click the name or picture of the profile or group you want to report.
Step 3. Click… or Options.
Use the following options to locate the Options button for the following content types:

Post:
Click the button with three dots above the post and to the right.

Comment:
. Hover over the comment and click the button with the three dots to the right.

Picture:
Click the image, then click Option at the bottom right of the image.

Videos:
Click the video to enlarge it, then click the button with the three dots on the video and to the right.

Profile:
Click the person's profile and name, then click the button with the three dots in the upper right corner of the cover photo.

Group:
Click the group name, then click the three-dot "…" button below the group's profile picture.
Step 4. Click the option to "Give Feedback" or "Report"
The posts of this option differ depending on the content reported, but are usually variations of Give Feedback and/or Report.
Step 5. Select the position of the content against the Facebook Community Standards
Click the option that best describes the content you want to report.
Step 6. Click Send
This option sends feedback to Facebook.
Step 7. Follow the on-screen instructions
Depending on the content being reported, you may be asked to submit a report to Facebook. Facebook doesn't ask for this for all of their content, but they do use feedback to improve their systems.
- To report a privacy violation, use this form.
- To report a problem with a business or ad. use this form.
Method 2 of 4: Using Facebook Resources
Step 1. Go to the Facebook Help Center webpage
If you are not logged into Facebook, you need to click the " Login" in the top right corner of the page to enter your username and password
Sadly, there is no way to contact Facebook directly – You cannot call, text, email, or talk to Facebook employees or affiliates. However, you can use the Facebook Help Center to diagnose and report problems with your account.
Step 2. Understand the options toolbar
This toolbar is at the top of the screen, just below the search bar. You need to move the mouse cursor over each option to display its subsections. Your options include the following:
- Using Facebook - This Help Center segment covers basic Facebook functionality, including how to make friends, send messages, and create an account.
- Managing Your Account - This segment includes things like how to log in and profile settings.
- Privacy and Security - This segment addresses account security, how to unfriend other people, and hacked or fake accounts.
- Policy and Reporting - This segment covers basic reporting (bullying, spam, etc.) as well as dealing with Facebook accounts of dead people and reporting fake or hacked accounts.
- You can also check the "Questions You Might Want to Ask" and "Popular Topics" sections on this page. This segment covers many common issues and complaints. Both of these segments are on the main page of the Facebook Help Center website.
Step 3. Select the relevant segment
For example, if you are having trouble with a fraudulent account, select the " Privacy and Security", then click " Hacked and Fake Accounts".
Step 4. Pay attention to additional options
Taking a fraudulent account as an example, you could click the "How do I report an account or Facebook Page pretending to be me or someone else?". When you do, a series of steps that explain how to resolve your situation will appear.
For example, Facebook recommends tackling fraudulent accounts by going to the profile page of the associated account, clicking the three-dot button (…) above the post, and clicking Find Support or Report Page, then follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 5. Use the search bar to speed up the process
To do this, simply click the search bar at the top of the Help Center page. This bar is between the "Help Center" and "Back to Facebook" buttons; Once clicked, type in a few words related to the complaint. You will see some suggestions appear in the drop down menu below the search bar.
- For example, you can type “fake account”, then click on the result “fake account on my behalf”.
- The search bar here only links to prewritten Facebook articles. If you're looking for an answer to a specific problem that isn't covered in the Help Center, scroll down and click the button that says Visit the Help Community to go to the Facebook Community Page.
Step 6. Go to the Business Help Center page
If a particular business or page has problems with ads, your questions are usually addressed in this segment.
- To investigate ads, click the button Advertise.
- For problems with ads, you need to click Troubleshooting Your Ads, then select the problem in the menu inside.
Step 7. Go to the Facebook Help Community page
If you can't find a solution to your current problem in the Help Center, try looking in the community forums.
You will need to use the search bar at the top of this page. You can search for topics (eg deactivated accounts) from here
Method 3 of 4: Entering an Application for Deactivated Account
Step 1. Go to the Deactivated Facebook Account page
If your account hasn't been deactivated (or isn't currently being deactivated), you won't be able to apply.
Step 2. Click the link that says "use this form to request a review"
This link is in the paragraph of the page entitled "What can I do if my account is disabled?".
Step 3. Type in your Facebook email address
This email address is used to sign in to Facebook. You can also enter the phone number for the associated account.
Step 4. Type in the full name
Make sure the name listed here matches your account name.
Step 5. Click Browse
You will also need to upload a photo ID, for example from a driver's license, ID card, or passport.
If you don't have an ID file, take one now, and send it to your own email address so you can download it to your desktop
Step 6. Click the file location
This location is where your photo ID is located. For example, if the file is saved on the desktop, click Desktop to go to the desktop in your file browser.
Step 7. Click the photo ID and click Open
If so, the photo will be uploaded to the Facebook form.
Step 8. Type the details into the "Additional Information" box
This is the box where you can justify reactivating your account. Consider including the following details:
- The reason the account shouldn't be deactivated.
- The reason you want the account to be reactivated
- Other contributing factors that can help reactivate the account (for example, the account was misused without your knowledge)
Step 9. Click Send
If so, the form is sent to Facebook for review. Be aware that you will not receive a response for several days.
If you don't receive a response within a few weeks, try submitting the form again
Method 4 of 4: Recovering Password
Step 1. Go to the Facebook site
When you open Facebook in a web browser, a login screen will appear, if you are not logged in automatically.
Step 2. Click Forgot Account?
It's below the "Password" box in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 3. Type in your name, email address, or phone number
Use the email address and phone number associated with your Facebook account. Make sure you still have access to the email account or phone number you're using.
Step 4. Click Search
This is the blue button below the text box where you enter your email address or phone number. If so, the code will be sent via email or phone number.
Step 5. Check messages from Facebook
If you use an email address, you will receive an email from Facebook containing a 6-digit code. If you enter your mobile phone number, you will receive an SMS from Facebook containing a 6-digit code.
If you choose the email option, don't forget to check your Spam folder
Step 6. Type in the code
Use the box that says "Enter the 6-digit Code" received from an email or text message received from Facebook.
Step 7. Click Continue on the Facebook page
Blue button under the box on the right.
Step 8. Click Continue again
You can also choose to log out of your account on all devices if you think your account has been abused.
Step 9. Type in the new password
Step 10. Click Continue
Your password has been successfully reset across all Facebook platforms. You can use this password to log into Facebook on a desktop browser or use the mobile app.
