Intermittent ads playing on Pandora can be removed by upgrading your account to the Pandora One service or using ad-blocking software. To use an ad blocker, you need to install a certain program (mobile devices must be rooted first), then add a special filter to block Pandora's ad servers. Method 1 of 3: Using an Ad Blocker
Step 1. Install the Adblock Plus extension on the desired web browser
The browser will automatically detect and display an “Install” button when the page loads.
In order to use an ad-blocking program on a mobile device, you will need to root or jailbreak it first. Instead of a browser extension, you'll need an ad-blocking app from F-Droid or Cydia
Step 2. Click “Add Extension” on the pop-up window
This button may be labeled “Install” or “Allow”, depending on the browser you are using.
Step 3. Visit the extensions menu (Extensions ")
The steps you need to take differ depending on the browser you are using. Adblock Plus is usually displayed in the “Extensions” menu.
- Chrome users can access the “≡” menu > “Extensions”.
- Firefox users can access the “≡” menu > “Addons” > “Extensions”.
Step 4. Press the “Options” button next to Adblock Plus
The extension settings page will open.
Step 5. Press the “Filter Preferences” button
A window with a list of filter controls will be displayed.
Filters are lists that are used to block content from certain ad servers
Step 6. Select the “Custom Filter” tab
This tab allows you to manually block certain ad servers, in addition to the ones automatically blocked by the extension's main filter.
Step 7. Press “Add Filter Group”
A new filter with an empty text field will be created.
Step 8. Type “/radioAdEmbed. ||pandora.com/radio/util/mediaserverPublicRedirect.jsp” in the text field and press “Close”
Pandora radio ad servers will be blocked after that.
Step 9. Restart the browser
Now you can go back to your Pandora account and listen to music from your favorite stations, without ads.
Method 2 of 3: Upgrading Account Via Pandora Mobile App
Step 1. Download and open the Pandora app for iOS or Android device.
Press the “Install” button, then select “Open” after the installation is complete.
Step 2. Sign in to the account
Type in the account login information and press the “Log in” button.
Step 3. Touch the “≡” icon to open the menu
It's in the top-left corner of the screen.
Tablet users usually can't see the button and can skip this step
Step 4. Touch “Settings”
The Pandora account and app settings list will open.
On tablets, it's in the lower-right corner of the screen
Step 5. Touch “Pandora One”
You will be taken to the Pandora One service details page.
Pandora One is a monthly subscription service (currently offered for $4.99) that removes ads and skips a limit on the number of songs you can skip
Step 6. Tap on “Start Your Free Trial”
A payment window in the device's app store will open.
- You will not be charged for the first 7 days of the trial period.
- You can also touch the “One Day Pass” button to purchase Pandora One access for one day.
Step 7. Enter the payment information (if necessary) and touch the “Verify” button to upgrade the account
You will be redirected back to the radio page, with the ads and pass limit removed. Your app store account will automatically be charged a monthly fee, according to the price of the subscription content.
Method 3 of 3: Upgrading Account To Pandora One (on Desktop)
Step 1. Sign in to your Pandora account
Type in your account login information and click "Log In".
Step 2. Click the “Upgrade” link
This link is in the upper-right corner of the screen. You will be taken to the Pandora One details page afterwards.

Step 3. Click “Start Your Free Trial”
You will be taken to the payment page after that.
Step 4. Enter payment information and click “Start Your Free Week”
You will be redirected back to the radio page, with ads and a limit on the number of songs that have been removed. Your credit card will be charged monthly, according to the subscription price.
Tips
- You can cancel your Pandora One subscription at any time through your account settings or the service app you used to upgrade your account.
- If you still hear ads after upgrading your account, try restarting your device or clearing your browser cache.
