This wikiHow teaches you how to use Windows' built-in email app to send photos in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP.

Method 1 of 5: Windows 10

Step 1. Launch the Mail app on Windows 10

Step 2. Click New mail in the top left corner

Step 3. Type the recipient's email address in the " To " field

Step 4. Enter the email title in the "Subject" field

Step 5. Type in the body of the email message

Step 6. Click the Insert tab at the top of the screen

Step 7. Click Pictures

Step 8. Click the Pictures folder
Most pictures on your computer are probably stored in this folder

Step 9. Select the photos you want to send
Most Internet service providers or ISPs (internet service providers) limit the size of attached files. If you are sending a lot of pictures, send them in separate emails to attach the photos

Step 10. Click Attach

Step 11. Click Send at the top right of the screen
The image will be sent to the recipient of the email.
Method 2 of 5: Windows 8

Step 1. Click the Windows menu

Step 2. Launch the Mail app found in the Start menu

Step 3. Create a new message by clicking
This button is located at the top right of the screen.

Step 4. Type the recipient's email address in the " To " field

Step 5. Enter the email title in the "Subject" field

Step 6. Type in the body of the email message

Step 7. Click the paperclip icon present at the top of the screen
The "File Picker" window will open.

Step 8. Click Files

Step 9. Click the Pictures folder
Most pictures on your computer are probably stored in this folder

Step 10. Select the image you want to send

Step 11. Click Attach

Step 12. Click the “Send” button at the top of the screen
The icon is an envelope with a few lines behind it. The photo will be sent to the recipient of the email.
Method 3 of 5: Windows 7

Step 1. Click the Start menu in the form of the Windows logo in the lower left corner

Step 2. Click Pictures

Step 3. Select the desired image
If you want to select several separate images, you can press and hold the Ctrl key while clicking the desired image

Step 4. Click E-mail in the toolbar

Step 5. Specify the image size in the drop-down menu

Step 6. Click Attach
The e-mail application will launch and the selected photo will be attached to it.

Step 7. Type the recipient's email address in the " To " field

Step 8. Enter the email title in the " Subject " field

Step 9. Type in the body of the email message

Step 10. Click Send located at the top left of the window
The image will be sent to the recipient of the email.
Method 4 of 5: Windows Vista

Step 1. Click the Start menu in the form of the Windows logo in the lower left corner

Step 2. Click All Programs

Step 3. Click Windows Photo Gallery

Step 4. Select the desired image
If you want to select several separate images, you can press and hold the Ctrl key while clicking the desired image

Step 5. Click E-mail located in the toolbar

Step 6. Set the image size in the drop-down menu

Step 7. Click Attach
The e-mail application will launch and the selected photo will be attached to it.

Step 8. Type the recipient's email address in the " To " field

Step 9. Enter the email title in the " Subject " field

Step 10. Type in the body of the email message

Step 11. Click Send located at the top left of the window
The image will be sent to the recipient of the email.
Method 5 of 5: Windows XP

Step 1. Click the Start menu in the form of the Windows logo in the lower left corner

Step 2. Click My Pictures and select the folder
You can run this method on photos that are larger than 64 KB. Check the file size of the photo by right-clicking the file, then selecting " Properties"

Step 3. Select the desired image
If you want to select several separate images, you can press and hold the Ctrl key while clicking the desired image

Step 4. Click E-mail this file
The button is on the left, under "File and Folder Tasks".

Step 5. Select the file size for the photo
If you want the pictures sent in small, click the “Make all my pictures smaller” radio button.

Step 6. Click the OK button

Step 7. Type the recipient's email address in the " To " field
Enter the email title in the " Subject " field

Step 8. Type in the body of the email message

Step 9. Click Send located at the top left of the window
The image will be sent to the recipient of the email.
