This wikiHow teaches you how to prevent incoming messages from certain senders on your Yahoo Mail account. You need to use the Yahoo website to take precautions. Sender blocking is not possible through the mobile Yahoo Mail app. Keep in mind that while this block prevents the sender from contacting you using a blocked email address, spam services often use multiple “disposable” email addresses which makes spam blocking less effective than blocking email addresses belonging to “human” users.
Step
Step 1. Open Yahoo Mail
Visit https://mail.yahoo.com/ through your computer's web browser. The Yahoo inbox page will appear if you're already signed in to your account.
If not, enter your account email address and password when prompted
Step 2. Click Settings
It's in the upper-right corner of your inbox. A drop-down menu will appear after that.
If you only see the gear icon (not the option labeled "Settings"), make sure you're using the updated Yahoo Mail interface by clicking the “ One click away from your upgraded inbox ” in blue on the left side of the page before continuing.
Step 3. Click More Settings
It's at the bottom of the drop-down menu. After that, the “Settings” page will be opened.
Step 4. Click Security and privacy
This tab is on the left side of the page.
Step 5. Click Add
This option is to the right of the " Blocked addresses " heading in the middle of the " Security and privacy " column.
Step 6. Enter the email address you want to block
Type in the full email address of the user you want to block.
Step 7. Click Save
It's a blue button below the "Address" text field. After that, the sender will be added to the list of blocked email addresses. From now on, any email sent from that user will automatically be put in the “Spam” folder.
