This wikiHow teaches you how to record live stream videos with OBS Studio, and how to extract and save indirect video streams using services like Savefrom.net and KeepVid.com. You may be found to be violating copyright laws if you record or store videos that are not yours or store them without permission.

Method 1 of 3: Recording Live Streaming Using OBS Studio
Step 1. Visit the OBS Project website
Use the link or type "obsproject.com" into your browser's address bar.
Step 2. Click Download, then scroll down the screen and click on the operating system of the computer you are using
Next, install the software following the instructions given on the screen.
OBS Studio can run on Windows 7 or later, Mac OS 10.9 or later, and Linux
Step 3. Run OBS
It's a round white app icon with three comma-shaped images inside.
- Click OK when prompted to read the license agreement.
- When you run the application for the first time, you have to choose whether you want to run the Auto-Configuration Wizard or not. If you want to be guided by OBS to make settings, click Yes.
Step 4. Open the video stream you want to save
Step 5. Click +
It's at the bottom of the OBS window, below the pane labeled "Sources".
Step 6. Click Window Capture at the bottom of the pop-up menu
Step 7. Type in the title of the video stream you want to record
You must select the "Create new" radio button located at the top side of the dialog box
Step 8. Click OK
Step 9. Click the drop-down menu in the middle of the dialog box
Step 10. Click the window containing the desired streaming video
To prevent the mouse pointer from appearing in the screenshot, uncheck " Show Cursor"
Step 11. Click OK
Step 12. Run the video stream, if you haven't already
Enlarge the stream as wide as possible until it fills the entire window on the computer screen
Step 13. Click Start Recording in the lower right corner of the OBS window
Step 14. Click Stop Recording when finished
The streaming video has been saved on the computer.
If you want to see the streaming recording, click File in the menu bar (menu bar), then click Show Recordings.
Method 2 of 3: Extracting Videos Using KeepVid.com
Step 1. Visit a video streaming site
Run a web browser and visit a video streaming site, such as YouTube.
Step 2. Find the desired video
Type a video title or description into the search field at the top of your browser.
Step 3. Select the video by clicking on it
Step 4. Copy the video URL
You can do this by clicking on the search bar at the top of your browser, clicking Edit in the menu bar, then click Select All. Next, click Edit go back, and select Copy.
Step 5. Visit KeepVid.com
Type "keepvid.com" into the search field at the top of your browser, then tap Return.
Step 6. Click the link field at the top of the browser window
Step 7. Click Edit on the menu bar at the top of the screen
Step 8. Click Paste
The YouTube link will be inserted into the text field.
Step 9. Click Download
It's a blue button to the right of the link you've entered.
Step 10. Select the video quality
There are several resolution options provided. Click the video quality you want.
You have to pay or subscribe if you want to choose videos with "Pro" quality
Step 11. Click a new browser window or tab
The video will download in a new browser window or tab. When the video is fully loaded, you can watch it in your web browser at any time, even without an Internet connection.
Method 3 of 3: Extracting Videos Using Savefrom.net
Step 1. Visit a video streaming site
Run a web browser and visit a video streaming site, such as YouTube.
Step 2. Find the desired video
Type a video title or description into the search field at the top of your browser.
Step 3. Select the video by clicking on it
Step 4. Copy the video URL
You can do this by clicking on the search bar at the top of your browser, clicking Edit in the menu bar, then click Select All. Next, click Edit go back, and select Copy.
Step 5. Visit SaveFrom.net
Type "savefrom.net" into the search field at the top of your browser, then tap Return.
Step 6. Click the link field located under "savefrom.net" in the browser window
Step 7. Click Edit on the menu bar at the top of the screen
Step 8. Click Paste
The YouTube link will be inserted into the text field.
Step 9. Click >
It's a blue button to the right of the link you've entered.
Step 10. Click download video in browser
This button is in the lower right corner.
Step 11. Select the video quality
Click the text to the right of the green "Download" button that appears below the link you entered. A menu containing the available video qualities and formats will be displayed. Select the desired quality by tapping on it.
Step 12. Click Download
This will open a dialog box where you can rename the file if you wish.
Step 13. Choose a location to save the file
Step 14. Click Save
It's a blue button in the lower-right corner of the dialog box. Videos that have been downloaded to a computer can be watched without having to use an internet connection.
