Most shipping companies offer parcel tracking services. When you use a shipping service that includes tracking, you'll get a unique number that you can use to track your shipment online, via SMS or phone. You can request this tracking number from online stores if they use a large shipping company.

Method 1 of 4: Getting a USPS Tracking Number
Step 1. Ship your package using a shipping type that includes tracking
For USPS, the following delivery types include tracking numbers: Certified Mail, Collect on Delivery, Global Express Guaranteed, Priority Mail, Registered Mail, Confirmation Signature Confirmation and UPS Tracking (UPS Tracking). If you buy products online, make sure that one of these types of stamps is included in your shipping information.
USPS First Class Mail, Media Mail or Postal Parcels do not include tracking numbers. In some cases, you may add a USPS tracking number to the product when purchasing your shipping service
Step 2. Save your receipt
The tracking number will be on the receipt. So ask the postal clerk to mark the tracking number on the sheet.
Step 3. Wait for a few hours to a day for the tracking number to be recorded
Step 4. Email the company from which you ordered online if you do not receive a delivery confirmation with a tracking number
If you choose Priority Mail or another shipping product above, they will have a tracking number to give you.
Step 5. Go to tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirm and type in the tracking number found in your email or receipt
Press the " Search " button to track your package.
Step 6. Send an SMS with your tracking number to "28777" to receive an SMS regarding the latest status of your package
Method 2 of 4: Getting a FedEx Tracking Number
Step 1. Purchase any type of FedEx shipping to get a tracking number
FedEx provides tracking numbers on Express, Land, Home Delivery, Cargo, office orders and Extra Fast (Custom Critical) shipments. This means they track almost all of their packages this way.
Step 2. Look for the tracking number on your receipt or email confirmation
You can also track it using the reference number associated with your package which can be found on your receipt, door tag or email confirmation.
Step 3. Wait about a day for the tracking information to appear
Step 4. Go to www.fedex.com/fedextrack to track the parcel via tracking number or reference number

800. GoFedEx to track the parcel by your phone or get the tracking number based on the reference information at your convenience.
If you can provide important reference information, the carrier may be able to provide you with a tracking number.
Method 3 of 4: Getting a UPS Tracking Number
Step 1. Use any shipping service from UPS and you will receive a tracking number
If you purchased an item online, choosing to ship with UPS will ensure that your package can be tracked by both you and the shipper.
Step 2. Save the receipt or confirmation email to get the tracking number
If you purchased an item shipped by UPS, you will usually receive a delivery confirmation via email with tracking information. In some cases, you may need to call or email the seller for a tracking number.
Step 3. Consider creating a reference number for easy tracking if you are using the services of UPS
You can create a 35-character reference number that can be used to track your package.
Step 4. Visit https://www.ups.com/tracking/tracking.html one day after the package is shipped to track it.
Step 5. Email totaltrack@ups
com with your tracking number to track the parcel by email.
Method 4 of 4: Getting a DHL Tracking Number
Step 1. Purchase any DHL shipping service
Keep in mind that DHL only serves international shipments within the United States.
Step 2. Save the receipt number
This is a copy of the original shipping slip used when shipping the goods. If you have purchased an item, ask the company for a tracking number.
Step 3. Enter your phone number when you buy online the goods that will use DHL services
Most DHL shipments send an SMS to this number when the goods will arrive in one to two days. The seller will add the phone number at the time of delivery.
Step 4. Send an email with the receipt number to track@dhl
com to get tracking information on your shipment.
Step 5. Send SMS to "+44 7720 33 44 55" with your tracking number to get the latest SMS tracking information
