Chocolate apples are a delicious snack for any occasion. You can make it as an instant snack after school, or wrap it in expensive chocolate for dessert after a dinner party. These dishes are delicious, whether using sliced apples or whole apples!

Method 1 of 2: Making Chocolate Slices of Apples
Step 1. Combine dry ingredients for chocolate sauce
Combine 187 grams of granulated sugar, 1.5 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, and 125 grams of cocoa powder in a bowl. Mix everything with a fork or an egg beater so that it is evenly distributed and removes any lumps.
Step 2. Combine the wet ingredients for the chocolate sauce on the stove
Place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat, then add 295 ml of milk, 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, and tablespoon vanilla extract. Stir all the ingredients until the butter is completely melted.
Add vanilla extract for a stronger taste, but don't overdo it
Step 3. Add dry ingredients little by little
If you try to pour all the dry ingredients into the pan, it will turn into a large lump of flour. Instead, add the dry ingredients little by little, stirring into the wet ingredients to even out the lumps.
Step 4. Raise the heat to medium-high and bring to a slow boil
Keep stirring the sauce so it doesn't burn as it cooks over high heat. After five to six minutes, turn off the heat and add a pinch of salt for a stronger taste.
Step 5. Crush candy canes into powder
There are many ways to do this, so use whatever you have in your kitchen.
- The easiest way is to use a mortar and pestle. Break the candy into smaller pieces and put a few pieces into the mortar. Use a pestle to grind the candy into powder or small flakes-whatever you choose.
- You can also use a hammer or a meat mallet. Place the candy canes in a sealed plastic bag, breaking them into smaller pieces so they can fit into the plastic if needed. Place the plastic bag on a stable surface, then crush the candy with a mallet or meat mallet until it reaches the texture you like.
- Use whatever you can find around the house. Be creative, however, stay safe.
Step 6. Peel and discard the center of the apple
Use a vegetable peeler to peel the skin off the apple, being careful not to hurt your fingers in this process. Position the apple in an upright position, then using a sharp knife, slice along the periphery of the center of the apple to peel the flesh of the edible apple from the center of the inedible apple. Cut the edible flesh of the apple into small, fitting slices.
Step 7. Sprinkle apple slices with chocolate sauce and powdered candy canes
Arrange the apples on a large plate or foil, if you don't want to add to the plate. You can finish the chocolate apple any way you like. Some of the options are:
- Dip the whole apple slice in the chocolate sauce, or dip only half of the slice.
- Use a spoon to lightly spread the chocolate sauce over the apple slices. Quickly move the tablespoon of chocolate sauce back and forth, so that the chocolate drips over the apple slices.
- Sprinkle with powdered candy, and let the sauce work as a glue.
- Take out the bowls of chocolate sauce and bowls of powdered candy, so your guests can dip and sprinkle themselves, to determine how much garnish they want for the apples.
- Storing the apples in the refrigerator before serving will make the chocolate harden a bit, which some people prefer.
Method 2 of 2: Making Whole Apple Satay with Chocolate Dip
Step 1. Wash and dry the apples
You can use any apple you like, but the tart taste of the granny smith apple goes well with the sweetness of the chocolate. Remove the production sticker that is still on the apple skin, then rinse it under water to remove any chemicals or germs that may be on the surface. Dry with a clean tissue.
Step 2. Insert a wooden skewer into the center of the apple
This will allow you to eat the apple like a candy bar when it's dipped in chocolate. You may have to stab it hard, but it's still pretty easy to stick it into the apple.
Step 3. Cut 448 grams of chocolate into small pieces
If you can find quality chocolate in the form of chocolate chips, skip this step. However, if you buy chocolate bars, you will need to cut them into small pieces. If you bought a chocolate bar that breaks easily into small pieces, break it along the lines. If the chocolate is a hard chocolate bar, use a sharp knife to break it into very small pieces.
- If the previously prepared chocolate pieces are too large, cut the pieces back.
- The smaller the pieces, the faster and easier the chocolate will melt into the sauce.
Step 4. Melt the chocolate in a double stacking pan
Melt the chocolate in a double stacking pan. If you try to melt the chocolate over high heat too quickly, the chocolate will burn and ruin the overall sauce. To prevent this, use the melting method using a double stacking pan to slowly evaporate the chocolate from the bottom, heating it evenly and preventing it from burning. To make a double stacking pan, you will need a large saucepan; a second pot that will fit over a large pot, but not touch the bottom; and a stirrer.
- Fill a large pot with water, making sure the water doesn't touch the bottom of the second pot once it's in place.
- Place a large pot of water and a second pot of boiling water on the stove over medium-low heat.
- Put the chocolate pieces in the second pot.
- When the steam from the hot water rises and enters the second pot, the chocolate will start to melt slowly.
- Stir in the chocolate to speed up the melting process and to ensure an even texture of the sauce.
- When the chocolate has melted completely, turn off the heat.
Step 5. Dip the apples in the melted chocolate
Grasp each skewered apple with a skewer, and dip into the chocolate in the second simmering pot. Rotate the skewer to ensure that the apples are completely covered in the chocolate sauce.
Step 6. Decorate the apples
If you want to add another topping to the chocolate apples, do so immediately after turning the apples in the chocolate sauce, while they are still wet. You can sprinkle the apples with whatever you want. Some of the usual toppings are chopped hazelnuts, chocolate sprinkles, powdered candy, and others. You can dip the apples in a bowl of sprinkles or you can sprinkle them on top of the apples.
Step 7. Arrange the chocolate dipped apples on wax paper and place in the fridge to harden
Place a piece of wax paper on the cake pan, then arrange each apple upside down on the paper. The skewers should face up. Place the cake pan in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden. Chocolate apple is ready to serve!
