From basketball and baseball to football and hockey, the jersey is a core symbol of competitive sport. Whether you want to show pride in your favorite team or display the numbers on your own tracksuits, displaying your tracksuit can add warmth to the room and serve as a reminder of good memories. With a glass frame, hanging rod, or even a regular coat hanger, you can create a chic look to show off your favorite tracksuit in style.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Displaying Shirts with Hanging Rods
Step 1. Purchase sheer curtain rods or PVC tubing
The curtain rods are easier to adjust while the pipes look more uniform and clean when mounted on a wall. Look for bars that are the same color as your favorite sports team.
Step 2. Measure your tracksuit from one sleeve to the other
Grab one sleeve of your tracksuit and pull it tight so that it forms a straight line from the top end of one sleeve to the end of the other. Use a ruler to accurately measure the distance between the sleeves.
Step 3. Adjust the hanger rod so that it is slightly longer than your tracksuit
If you are using a curtain rod, adjust the segment of the item so that it is slightly longer than the length of the shirt. If you are using PVC pipe, use a plastic pipe cutter for similar results. The hanger rod should be slightly longer than the tracksuit so you can fit it in without damaging the shirt.
Step 4. Measure and mark the end of the hanging rod on the wall
Use a pencil to mark the area where the neckline of the tracksuit will be. Then, divide the total length of the rods used in half. Use a metal ruler to measure the distance to the right and left of the center point, then mark each end. Attach the hanging rod to the wall to make sure the two points made are even.
To make sure the marks made are even, stick a ruler on the wall to connect the two points. Then, use a level (or level) to make sure the ruler is level
Step 5. Connect the hook to the marked point
If the curtain rod used is equipped with a special hooking device, follow the included instructions to attach it to the wall. If you don't have one, or if you're using PVC tubing, install nail clippers, screw hooks, or thick command strips instead. Make sure the hook installed is large enough to hold the hanging rod and thick enough to support its weight.
Step 6. Insert the hanging rod into the tracksuit, then hang it
Insert the end of the rod into one sleeve until it penetrates into the other sleeve. If necessary, use a small piece of tape or a Glue Dots product to prevent the clothes from shifting. Place the end of the rod on a hook or on a special device to attach it to the wall.
Method 2 of 3: Wearing Clothes Hangers
Step 1. Prepare a coat hanger made of wood or flannel
Wire hangers are great for everyday wear, but they can leave marks on tracksuits over time. Therefore, use solid and smooth wood or flannel coat hangers to support your workout clothes against the wall. Look for colors that match the color of your favorite sports or team shirt.
Step 2. Mark the area where you want to hang the tracksuit
Find a spot on the wall where you can hang your tracksuit and make a small mark with a pencil in the area where the hanger will be attached. Look for an area where your tracksuit can be hung without touching the floor or furniture. To make your clothes last longer, don't hang them near a window or in a damp area.
Step 3. Install a small hook or command strip on the wall
Make sure the marked area is clean and dust free. If the wall used is not hard, you can stick nails or hooks into the plaster wall. However, if the wall is very hard, stick a command strip to the surface as an alternative. Make sure the hook that is installed is aligned with the pencil marks that have been made.
Step 4. Hang up your tracksuit
Attach the hanger to the tracksuit and hang it on a nail or wall hook. To complete the look, try placing a photo of you wearing the shirt, a photo of your favorite player, or sports equipment near the shirt hanging.
If the tracksuit slips easily, use Glue Dots or a similar adhesive product to hold it in place
Method 3 of 3: Framing Tracksuits
Step 1. Buy a glass frame to show off your tracksuit
Look for shallow storage frames or similar containers and make sure they are deep enough to accommodate clothing and other objects you want to frame. Look for a frame that matches the color of your tracksuit or the room where it is installed.
- Opt for a square frame if you plan to fold the garment just to show off the numbers.
- Opt for a long, rectangular frame if you want to show off your entire tracksuit.
Step 2. Remove the back cover of the frame
Store-bought frames come with a back cover made of cork or thin wood planks. Remove this board like a picture frame and lay it on a flat surface.
To beautify the backboard, use cloth or paper in the same color as your tracksuit
Step 3. Use double cloth tape to attach the shirt to the board
Regardless of whether you fold it into a square or display the entire shirt, you will attach it in the same method. Use strips of cloth tape or double-sided tape to attach the tracksuit to the board. Press the shirt firmly against the board to make sure it sticks well.
Step 4. Use pins to secure loose fabric
Press the small pins into the tracksuit to secure the loose fabric. Look for an invisible point, such as the inside of the sleeve or the inside of the shoulder. Cover the exposed pins with cloth tape.
Step 5. Attach other decorations to the board if desired
If you have extra space, try adding another element to the glass frame. Small, lightweight objects can be attached in the same way as a tracksuit. Large, heavier objects need to be attached with velcro adhesive or sewing thread. Sometimes, the object can be placed at the base of the glass frame itself.
- To complete your personal tracksuit, add other equipment you've used while exercising, such as gloves, a ball, or a hockey ball.
- As a sportswear fan, you can add team memorabilia, such as flags, or player memorabilia, such as card collections.
Step 6. Attach nails or hooks to the wall
Look at the other side of the frame cover board to see which hooks are used. Most of the time, the hooks are just ordinary nails. To mount it on a non-hard wall, find a point to attach the tracksuit to and stick a nail or other hook object. For hard walls, use the command strip instead.
To attach a heavy frame, make sure you use strong nails or hooks to support the weight
Step 7. Reattach the frame cover board and hang your tracksuit
Once the preparation is complete, screw the frame cover back into place. Be careful not to move the contents inside the frame when installing it. After that, hang the frame and enjoy the new decoration of your room.
