Heads Up! is an application created by Ellen DeGeneres and suitable to be played at parties or other social events. This game is similar to a word play where each participant has to guess a word explained by the other players. The “key” word that must be guessed is displayed on the phone screen and each player is given 60 seconds to guess as many words as possible based on the clues given by other players. Part 1 of 3: Downloading Games
Step 1. Determine the required game version
Find out if you have an Android phone or want to use an iPhone or iPad. In addition, there is another version of Heads Up! for iPod and iPad known as Heads Up! Kids. Decide if you want to play this game with children or adults.

Step 3. Download and install the game on your phone or tablet

Part 2 of 3: Playing the Game
Step 1. Touch the game icon on the home screen to open the app
Once downloaded and installed, an app icon will be created on the home screen. Touch the icon to open the app so you can start the game.
Step 2. Divide the players into teams of two
If there are more than two people playing, group each person into a two-player team. One player guesses the word displayed on the screen, while his partner gives hints. The goal of the game is that the player can guess the word displayed on the device screen without seeing it. Every time a player guesses the word correctly, his team earns a point.

Step 3. Choose a deck of cards
In Heads Up!, there are various topic words to choose from. Discuss with friends and determine the topics that everyone likes the most. Available card topic decks include celebrities, movies, animals, accents and characters.
New card decks are periodically added to the game, such as the Chinese New Year edition card deck
Step 4. Read the description of the deck and touch the “Play” button
After touching the deck you want to play, you'll be taken to a brief description of the instructions on the deck. Discuss with other players to determine if all players want to choose this topic before starting the game.

Step 5. Place the phone on the forehead with the screen pointing outward
Decide who plays first, then ask the player to place their phone against their forehead, with the screen pointing outward so their partner can see the word displayed on the screen. After the countdown ends, the game begins. With your phone on your forehead, you can't see the words on the screen, but your friends can still see them.
If you are using a tablet, you can hold it against your chest so you don't have to lift it and place it on your forehead
Step 6. Tilt the phone downwards if you guessed the word correctly
Teammates will see the word and provide clues without mentioning the keyword directly. Hints can also mark if you answer correctly. After that, tilt the phone forward (down) until the phone screen is facing the floor. Points will be awarded to the team.
Step 7. Tilt the phone upwards if you can't guess the word you want
If you're "stuck" and unsure of the password to guess, tilt your phone upwards to skip the word card and move on to the next word. You won't get any deductions, but you won't get any marks for the team either.
Step 8. Guess the word on the card until the time runs out
You have 60 seconds to guess all the cards in the deck. Try to guess as many words as possible before time runs out. If the countdown time reaches zero seconds, all points will be added up. After your turn to guess is over, now it's your partner's turn to guess the password and hold the phone. Whoever gets the highest score at the end of the round wins the game.

Part 3 of 3: Boosting Skills in the Heads Up Game
Step 1. Choose a deck of cards that you understand well
The best way to get more score is to understand the chosen topic. If you like movies or television shows, for example, choose a celebrity or movie card deck. If you understand the biology and variety of animals, you need to play a deck of animal cards. The more knowledgeable you are about the topics on the deck, the easier the game will be to follow.
Step 2. Play the game as a team, and not just a one-on-one game
Although you can play Heads Up! With a one-on-one format, you can also play this game in teams. Instead of trying to get more scores than other players, try to get points together to achieve a high score. With this concept, the game does not feel so competitive and becomes more exciting.
Step 3. Provide a word description
One of the most common clues in Heads Up! is a word description. Try to imagine the object displayed on the phone screen and describe it as best you can. The more accurate and easy to recognize the details provided, the greater the chance for players to guess the word in question.
For example, if the card contains the word " alligator ", you could say, "This is a green reptile with a long mouth and many teeth."
Step 4. Make recognizable sounds
If the word shown is an animal that makes a certain sound, you can imitate that sound to provide clues. If the word is a popular television show or movie with an easily recognizable theme song, you can hum the song so you don't have to describe the show or movie. Think of a sound or song that relates to the word being shown and use it instead of a word description.
For example, if you see the word “dog” or dog, you can bark or say “woof!” rather than giving a description of the dog
Step 5. Say the synonyms of the words displayed on the screen
If there are frequently used synonyms for the words that appear on the screen, you can use them as a hint. Think of words that are related or have the same meaning as the words shown on the screen, and use them as clues to your teammates.
