This wikiHow teaches you how to transfer videos from your Android tablet or phone to your computer. If the video is small, you can send it via your own email. If the file is large, connect your Android device to your computer using a USB cable, or upload the video file to Google Drive.

Method 1 of 3: Transferring Videos from Android Device to Computer Using Email
Step 1. Touch the icon
that's on the phone.
Step 2. Touch Gallery
This will open the photo and video library on the device.
Step 3. Touch the video you want to transfer to your computer
Step 4. Touch the icon
Step 5. Touch the Email option
Step 6. Tap inside the To text field
Type in an email address accessible on your computer.
Step 7. Touch Send
Step 8. Open a web browser on your computer
Open the email you just sent to yourself. How to check your email will vary depending on the email service you use.
Step 9. Right-click the video you attached
Step 10. Click on Save Link As in the pop-up menu
Depending on your email service or browser, this option might say Save or Download.
Step 11. Click OK
The video will open on the computer.
Depending on the browser you are using, this option might say Open or Open File.
Method 2 of 3: Moving Large Video Files Via Google Drive
Step 1. Touch the Google Drive app icon to open it
The icon is a green, yellow, and blue triangle.
- If you don't have one and need to download it first, tap the Apps icon at the bottom, tap the Play Store icon, then type "Google Drive" into the search box at the top of the screen. choose Google Drive in the displayed search results, and touch Install.
- If it's your first time using the app, you'll need to sign in using your Google account information first.
Step 2. Touch the colorful plus icon
You can find it in the lower right corner.
Step 3. Touch the icon that says Upload
This icon is an arrow pointing up above a straight horizontal line.
Step 4. Touch Photos and Videos
The media library on the device will be opened.
Step 5. Touch the video you want to transfer to your computer, and tap Upload
The Upload option is in the top right corner.
Step 6. Switch to your computer and visit drive.google.com
If you're not signed into Google on your computer, you'll need to sign in first after visiting the site
Step 7. Click Recent
This option is located on the left side of the Google Drive screen. You may have to scroll down the screen to find it.
Step 8. Right-click the name of the newly uploaded video
This will bring up a menu.
Step 9. Click Download in the menu
The computer will download the video.
Method 3 of 3: Transferring Videos Via USB Cable
Step 1. Unlock Android device
Unlock the device by entering the passcode.
Step 2. Connect the USB cable from the phone to the computer
The small end of the cable must be plugged into the device, while the larger end should be plugged into the computer.
The exact location of the USB plug will vary depending on the hardware used, but the mini-USB port on Android devices is generally at the bottom. On a laptop, the port is usually located on the side, while on a desktop computer, the port is usually placed on the front or back
Step 3. Tap the notification that says Charging this device via USB on the Android device
Step 4. Touch File Transfer
This will open a file transfer window on your computer.
