Unprepared for exams, lazy to study, or feel like it's impossible to pass exams? You may feel the need to cheat in order to pass. Here are some steps and tips to help you cheat.
Step
Step 1. Decide which method is right for you -- using paper cheats, cheating on friends, or cheating smartly
Read the sections of this guide for information on each method.
Step 2. Don't get caught
Cheating can only help you if you don't get caught. Here are some tips to avoid getting caught:
- Don't look suspicious. Balance your efforts to find answers and your efforts to make your moves less suspicious. To do so, don't move too much. If you have to look around, don't look at one spot for more than 5-10 seconds. Turn your gaze the other way -- this way, supervisors won't be suspicious and find your friend or cheat sheet.
- Don't expect to get too high a score. You can actually cheat until you get a perfect score if you try, but if someone else gets a mediocre score, you'll be caught. If you usually get a good score, you won't get caught, but if you usually get a red, there's a good chance you'll get caught. Write wrong answers to some of the questions for safety's sake. Try to get a B on the test and work your way up slowly until you get an A.
- Discard evidence. After the exam is over, go to the bathroom to throw away or wash the cheat proof. The longer you hold onto the evidence, the more likely you are to be found out because one or more people will definitely be suspicious.
Method 1 of 4: Cheat Paper
Step 1. Start by gathering the information you will need, for example formulas, keywords, vocabulary, dates, definitions, names, conjunctions, etc
Step 2. Write or print the information correctly
The typeface should be easy to read and try not to be too big or small. Remember, although you want to include as much information as possible on your cheat sheet, if the letters are too small, you will focus on your cheat paper and increase your chances of getting caught. Then, if possible, print out your cheat sheet. Printed paper makes it less likely that your teacher or professor will track the cheat.
Step 3. Copy the cheat
This method is very common for spelling tests. Write the spelling in your book onto a piece of paper, then place the paper on your thigh or arm. This method is very risky, so be careful.
Step 4. Hide your cheat sheet
- Try the cheat method on the body. Instead of writing your cheats on paper, write them down on your body, such as your arms (if you're a man) or your thighs (if you're a woman), as these places can be covered by skirts or long clothes when you're not using your cheats. Make sure the cheat is not visible and write the cheat where it points to you.
- Try the cheat method on a drinking bottle. Print the cheat sheet on colored paper that is similar to the color of your water bottle label. Stick it on the label and make sure the flick is facing you. We recommend that you use a type of writing that is similar to a label so as not to be suspicious.
- Try the cheat method on the binder. If you have a binder with a clear slot in front of it, put your cheat in there. Move your binder from under the desk to the desk drawer to take a peek. Don't shift desk drawers too often, especially if your classroom isn't carpeted.
- Try the cheat method on the calculator. This method is commonly used by people who are about to take a math test, because a math test is the only time you can use a calculator without suspicion. Enter the formula and information in the space between the back of the calculator and the cover of the calculator.
- Another calculator method to try: If you have a graphics calculator, save the formulas to your calculator in an archive, so you can access them even if your teacher asks you to clear the RAM contents. Delete the archive during the test, and clear the memory after the test. This can also be used if you're using a school calculator, as you won't have anyone rummaging through your files. If you don't know how, learn it.
- Try the scattered cheat method. Hide the cheat anywhere so you don't get caught, for example in the bulletin box in class, in the bathroom, or on a chair.
- Wear long sleeves and hide your cheats in your sleeves. This method is very good because your teacher will not be visible under your arm. And when the teacher isn't looking, you can easily pick up and insert cheats.
Method 2 of 4: Cheating Friends
Step 1. Try peeking at a friend
Sit behind the person who will get a good score on the test (because they claim to have studied or understand the subject). Adjust your position so that you are in the far left or right corner of your chair and facing diagonally to their table. This position will allow you to see their shoulders without moving your head too often. Never pick a student in the middle or at the front of the class, because the teacher will notice your attempts to peek at them.
Step 2. Try the cheat method with the sign
Set up a tagging system with classmates. This will enrich your knowledge of the subject because you can work on the questions together. For multiple choice questions, do the following:
- Make hand or foot signals for A, B, C, D, E and wrong answers. By signaling for wrong answers, you and your friend will increase the chances of getting good marks because you will be helping each other to avoid wrong answers. Also, make less obvious sound signals to get their attention, such as coughing or tapping their feet.
- Start with a cough to get your friend's attention.
- Use your hands to give the answer numbers (wag "3" then "2" for the answer to question number 32)
- Wait for them to signal an answer (e.g. hold ear for "B")
- If you need help deciding on the correct answer, provide the question number and signal the answer you think is correct.
-
Your friend can nod if it's correct, and if it's wrong, they can signal a wrong answer, like holding their hair.
Method 3 of 4: Using Hard-to-Track Methods
Step 1. Buy a teacher edition book for a subject where the teacher uses sample questions from the teacher edition book
Find the right edition of the book and buy it. Before the quiz is held, memorize the answers to the quiz questions. This method can be applied to introductory science, foreign language, or history classes using quizzes from books.
Step 2. Try getting old test questions by asking seniors or students with many acquaintances
Study the questions from the test, or if you think the exam questions will be exactly the same, study the answers straight away.
Step 3. Use the retest method
If your professor or teacher allows you to retake the test later, do not complete the test and ask for a re-test. Make sure you memorize the topics and questions being tested so that you can find the answers before completing the test.
Admit that you are sick, go to the bathroom when the exam is about to end, or don't rush to take the exam. Make sure your professor allows you to retake the exam before you try to do so because you might get a worse grade if they don't
Step 4. Try the pencil way
When you collect the exam, if your teacher is not at the table, use the pencil you brought with you to write the answers from the top of the answer stack. However, this trick is very risky!
Step 5. Try using a "fake exam paper"
Knowing exactly the format of the exam paper will help you with this. That way, you can write down all the important information on a piece of paper that looks exactly like a test paper.
- If your exam paper format is question/answer, remember to add a question and answer section. You should also include the page number and mark each question (if any).
- Next, use a stapler to attach this paper to the original exam question paper. That way, you can use it without anyone knowing.
Method 4 of 4: Trying Not to Cheat
Step 1. Try memorizing at the last minute
By spending a few minutes before the exam reading your notes or studying, you may be able to fill in the exam questions without cheating.
- For essay tests, try memorizing keywords. Usually, the teacher or lecturer has a list of the keywords they are looking for in an essay. This means that the rest of the essay can be somewhat neglected. If you know an exact topic or a topic that might come up in an essay question, memorize the four or five words your professor will look for in the essay. Instead of studying all the material, this way you can be successful with minimal effort.
- For a math test, memorize the formula. Knowing the formula will be more useful than spending time with practice. If you can write down formulas by heart, you can use test time to apply them to problems.
- For multiple choice exams, try to break down the information you know will appear on the test. Instead of memorizing a list of words, try breaking it down into smaller lists. For example, if you study history for a test, instead of remembering "Jefferson, Hamilton, Franklin, Washington, Grant, Lincoln, and Lee", break it down to "the four founding fathers: Franklin, Washington, Jefferson and Hamilton" and "the three warlords.": Lee, Lincoln, Grant". By remembering the amount of data on a particular topic, you will easily find out who you have forgotten.
Step 2. For the next exam, try to study early and effectively
Taking into account your current activities, try setting up your own study schedule.
Warning
- Other students may suspect you and report it to the teacher.
- If the computer you are using is a shared computer, delete the browsing history so your parents don't find out.
- The possibility of getting caught is always there. Be careful.
- By cheating, you will suffer fatal consequences if you are caught, such as zero marks on a test, suspension, or even expulsion from school. Many schools will even mark your transcript to state that you violated the school's code of conduct. Instead of looking for ways to cheat, look for ways to study for exams.
- In many professions, you will need the knowledge you gain from studying, rather than from cheating. Remember that you cannot cheat when you operate on a patient.
- In some important tests, such as the GCSE in the United Kingdom or NAPLAN in Australia, your entire test results may be deleted if you are caught cheating. The most severe penalty you may face is that you may not take all the exams for 5 years, which means you will not be able to sit for A-level or university exams.
- Don't be proud of your cheating achievements. It may be simple, but still there are people who do it. You don't know who will leak it to the teacher.
- Be sure to always be aware of where the teacher is looking; This whole method will not work if the teacher is always looking at you while you are holding the notes in your hand and copying them on the answer sheet.
- If you cheat on someone close to you, lean on your shoulder as you turn your head to the side so you don't get caught.
- If you have to cheat because you didn't have time to study, remember that it's still worth studying the content of the exam after it's over. You may be taking a cumulative exam and your memorization might help you.
- Cheating on friends is better than cheating on paper, and the hard-to-trace way is the better of the two. The less evidence points to you, the better.
- Watch what the teacher does so you don't get caught.
- Keep in mind the consequences you will have to bear, such as withdrawing your NHS candidacy, etc.
- Cheating on the Junior/Leaving Certificate exam in Ireland will prevent you from taking the exam for five years.
- It's best not to cheat, because you'll feel guilty and want to confess, and you'll be in big trouble if you confess.
