This wikiHow teaches you how to delete a personal LinkedIn account. You must first cancel your premium membership (if you have one) before you can permanently delete your LinkedIn account.

Method 1 of 2: Using Desktop Sites
Step 1. Visit the LinkedIn site
If you are already logged in (login), the main LinkedIn page will open.
If you are not logged in automatically, enter your username and password, then click the button Sign In.
Step 2. Click the Me button or if you use settings in Indonesian, click the Me button
This button is the profile icon in the top right corner of your profile.
If you don't upload a photo for your LinkedIn profile, the icon will be in the form of a half torso (head and shoulders) silhouette
Step 3. Click on Settings & Privacy or Settings & Privacy
This option is at the top of the drop-down menu. Me or Me.
Step 4. Scroll down and click Closing Your LinkedIn Account
It's at the bottom of the Settings & Privacy page or "Settings and Privacy".
- If you have registered as a Premium member, a warning will appear stating that you cannot close the account if you have not canceled the membership.
- You can click the " You'll need to convert it to a Basic membership " link on this page to go to the member cancellation page.
Step 5. Select the reason you want to delete the account
The options provided include:
- I have a duplicate account (I have multiple accounts)
- I'm getting too many emails (I received too many emails)
- I'm not getting any value from my membership (I don't get much benefit from my membership)
- I have a privacy concern (I have privacy issues)
- I'm receiving unwanted contact (I received an unwanted contact invitation)
- Other (Other)
- If prompted, provide additional feedback at the bottom of the page.
Step 6. Click Next or Next at the bottom
Step 7. Enter the password
You can also check the "Unsubscribe me from LinkedIn email communications" or "I want to unsubscribe from LinkedIn email communications, including invites" boxes under the password field.
Step 8. Click Close account
Your LinkedIn account will be officially deleted.
The account will disappear from internet search results within a few weeks
Method 2 of 2: Using Mobile Apps
Step 1. Launch the LinkedIn app
The main page of your profile will open when you are logged in to LinkedIn.
If you are not logged in, tap Sign In, type in your email address and password, then tap Sign In.
Step 2. Tap the Me or Me tab
It's the profile icon in the bottom right corner (iPhone) or top right corner (Android).
If you don't upload a photo for your LinkedIn profile, the icon will be a half-body (head and shoulders) silhouette
Step 3. Tap ️ which is in the top right corner
Step 4. Scroll down and tap Close account
This option is at the bottom of the "Account" tab.
If you are registered as a Premium member on LinkedIn, a notification will appear asking you to close your Premium account first on the desktop site. Your account will not be able to be deleted if your Premium membership has not been deactivated
Step 5. Tap Continue at the bottom of the page
Step 6. Tap the reason why you want to delete the account
The options provided include:
- I have a duplicate account (I have multiple accounts)
- I'm getting too many emails (I received too many emails)
- I'm not getting any value from my membership (I don't get much benefit from my membership)
- I have a privacy concern (I have privacy issues)
- I'm receiving unwanted contact (I received an unwanted contact invitation)

Step 7. Tap Next or Next located at the bottom
You may be asked to provide an explanation of your reasoning (if you wish to do so), then tap Next back to continue.
Step 8. Type in the password
You can also tap the "Unsubscribe me from LinkedIn email communications" or "I want to unsubscribe from LinkedIn emails, including invites" boxes below the password field.
Step 9. Tap Close account or Close account
Your profile will be removed from LinkedIn, but may continue to appear in Google search results for several weeks after you delete it.
