Have you ever entered an address into your GPS navigation system but you couldn't find it? If you rarely update your GPS, then new streets and addresses that have changed will not be included in your GPS. Since GPS upgrades can be quite expensive, you can use a Google Maps trick to find the GPS coordinates of an address that you can use as a travel destination. See step 1 below.
Step
Step 1. Find the address on Google Maps
Go to the Google Maps website and enter the address details in the search box. The map will center the address you entered.
Step 2. Right click on the location
Right-click on the address marker pin. A menu will appear with several options.
Step 3. Select “What's here?
” In the left frame will be listed places of commerce. The coordinates will be displayed in the Search box at the top of the page.
You can do this without searching for an address. You can right-click anywhere on the map to find the coordinates of that location
Step 4. Copy the coordinates
You can copy the coordinates from the search box and enter them into any GPS navigation system.
Step 5. Find coordinates using New Google Maps Preview
Click on a location on the map. When you click any location on the map, a box with coordinates will appear below the search box. You need to double click if you have previously selected a location, because the first click means deselecting the location and the second click will load the coordinates.
- When you click a marked location, the coordinates will not appear, but information about the trade or location you selected. To find the coordinates, you need to deselect the marked location and then click on a nearby location.
- If you want to go back to the classic Google Maps shape, click the “?” in the lower right corner of the window and select “Return to Classic Google Maps”.
