This wikiHow teaches you how to prevent Gmail from sending notifications to your computer desktop. While you can turn off notifications from Gmail through your Gmail inbox settings, you may also need to block notifications from Gmail if you're using Google Chrome. If you're using your Gmail account through a desktop email management program like Outlook or Thunderbird, disabling Gmail notifications probably won't hide pop-up notifications from your desktop.
Step

- If you register a Gmail account in the Mail app on Windows 10, you'll still get notifications of incoming messages from Gmail. The same is true for other desktop-based email management programs (eg Outlook or Thunderbird).
- You can't change desktop notification settings from the Gmail mobile app.
