This wikiHow teaches you how to send a video clip to someone's email address using Gmail. If the video file is 25 megabytes or less, you can send it as a regular attachment. Otherwise, you will need to upload the video to Google Drive and send the link of the video file to the recipient of the message. You can follow both options/steps on the desktop or mobile version of Gmail.

Method 1 of 4: Sending Video Attachments Via Mobile
Step 1. Open Gmail
Tap the Gmail app icon, which looks like a red “M” on a white background. Gmail will show your inbox if you're already signed in to your account.
If you're not logged into your account, enter your email address and password before continuing
Step 2. Touch "New" button
It's a red and white pencil icon in the lower-right corner of the screen. After that, a new email window will appear.
Step 3. Touch the paperclip icon
It's in the upper-right corner of the screen.
You may need to touch the “ OK ” to allow Gmail to access the files on your phone or tablet.
Step 4. Select the video you want to send
Touch the location where the video is saved (e.g. “ Camera Roll ”), find the video you want to upload, touch the file, and select “ Choose ”.
On Android devices, touch the option “ Attach files ” on the menu first.
Step 5. Enter the recipient's email address
Type in the email address of the recipient of the video clip.
You can also add a subject/title to the message by touching the " Subject " field and typing a title, and the main message by touching the " Compose email " field and typing a message
Step 6. Touch the “Send” arrow
It's a paper airplane icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. After that, an email containing the video clip will be sent to the recipient of the message.
The recipient of the email can open the video in the Gmail app by tapping the video preview at the bottom of the email
Method 2 of 4: Submitting Video Attachments Via Desktop Sites
Step 1. Open the Gmail website
Visit https://www.gmail.com/. After that, your Gmail inbox will open if you're already signed in to your account.
If you're not logged in yet, type in your email address and password before continuing
Step 2. Click COMPOSE
It's a white button in the upper-left corner of your inbox. After that, a new email window will open.
Step 3. Enter the recipient's email address
Type in the email address of the recipient of the video clip you want to send.
You can also add a message subject/title by touching the " Subject " field and typing a title, and the main message by touching the " Compose email " field and typing a message
Step 4. Click the paperclip icon
It's at the bottom of the email window.
Step 5. Select a file storage location
Click the folder containing the video on the left side of the file browsing window.
Step 6. Select videos
Click the video you want to upload.
Step 7. Click Open
It's in the lower-right corner of the window. After that, the video will be uploaded to the email.
Step 8. Click Send
It's a blue button in the lower-left corner of the email window. Once clicked, an email with a video attachment will be sent to the recipient of the message.
Method 3 of 4: Sending Videos from Google Drive Via Mobile
Step 1. Upload the video to Google Drive
The upload process will differ depending on the device where the video is loaded (computer or phone/tablet):
- Mobile Device – Open the Google Drive app, touch the button “ +", choose " Upload, touch the button “ Photos and Videos ”, select the location to save the video, touch the video, and select “ UPLOAD ”.
- Desktop – Visit https://drive.google.com/ and sign in to your account if necessary, click the “button NEW ", click " File Upload ”, select a video storage location, click the video you want to upload, and click “ Open ”.
Step 2. Open Gmail
Tap the Gmail app icon, which looks like the letter "M" on a white background. After that, the Gmail inbox will be opened.
If you're not logged into your Gmail account, enter your email address and password before continuing
Step 3. Touch "New" button
It's a red and white pencil icon in the lower-right corner of the screen. After that, a new email window will appear.
Step 4. Touch the paperclip icon
You can find this icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
Step 5. Select videos
Touch the option Drive ” (You may need to scroll through the screen first) and tap the desired video.
On Android devices, touch the option “ Insert from Drive ” from the drop-down menu, touch the video you want to upload, then select “ SELECT ”.

Step 7. Touch CONTINUE if prompted
If you've never sent a video file to anyone, this option will allow the recipient of the message to view the video you've sent.
On Android devices, check the box " Can view " and touch the button “ Send ” if requested.
Method 4 of 4: Sending Videos from Google Drive Videos Via Desktop Sites
Step 1. Upload the video to Google Drive
The upload process will differ depending on the device where the video is loaded (computer or phone/tablet):
- Desktop – Visit https://drive.google.com/ and sign in to your account if necessary, click the “button NEW ", click " File Upload ”, select a video storage location, click the video you want to upload, and click “ Open ”.
- Mobile Device – Open the Google Drive app, touch the button “ +", choose " Upload, touch the button “ Photos and Videos ”, select the location to save the video, touch the video, and select “ UPLOAD ”.
Step 2. Open the Gmail website
Visit https://www.gmail.com/. After that, your Gmail inbox will be displayed if you're already signed in to your account.
If you're not logged into your account, enter your email address and password before continuing
Step 3. Click COMPOSE
It's a white button in the upper-left corner of your inbox. After that, a new email window will open.
Step 4. Enter the email address of the recipient of the message

It's a triangular Drive logo at the bottom of the email window. After that, the Drive window will open.
Step 6. Select the video you want to upload
Click the video that you want to send to the recipient of the message.

Step 9. Click Share & send if prompted
With this option, the recipient will be able to view the video file after receiving your email.
