This wikiHow teaches you how to email a large video file. Since most email providers only allow you to send files up to 20 MB in size via email, you'll need to use internet (cloud) storage space to store and send files via regular email.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Using Google Drive (Gmail)
Step 1. Visit the Gmail website
If you're not logged into your Gmail account, sign in by typing in your email address and password.
Step 2. Click the Compose button
Step 3. Click the Google Drive button
This button is indicated by a triangular icon displayed at the bottom of the new message window (“New Message”).
Step 4. Click the Uploads tab
It's in the top-right corner of the Google Drive window.
If the video file you want to send has been previously uploaded to Google Drive, you can insert it directly through the Google Drive window that appears
Step 5. Click the Select files from your computer button
Step 6. Select the video you want to send
You may need to check several different directories (eg the “Documents” directory) to find the video, depending on where the video is stored on your computer.
Step 7. Click the Upload button
It's in the lower-left corner of the Google Drive window.
Uploading files may take a while. Once done, the video will display as a link in the “New Message” window
Step 8. Enter the details of the email you want to send
These details include the recipient's email address, the subject or title of the letter, and the body of the letter.
Step 9. Click the Send button
It's a blue button in the lower-left corner of the "New Message" window. Your video will be sent as a link that the recipient can download once he opens the link.
- If you haven't authorized the recipient of the message to view the attachment of the email you sent, you need to press the Share and send button in the window or menu that appears.
- In the drop-down menu that appears, you can also specify whether the recipient is allowed to edit or comment on the uploaded file (by default, the “view” option is automatically set so that the recipient of the message can only view and download attachments/files).
Method 2 of 3: Using OneDrive (Outlook)
Step 1. Open the Outlook website
If you're not signed into your Outlook account, sign in using your email address and password.
Step 2. Click the dotted icon in a 3x3 arrangement
It's in the upper-left corner of the Outlook window.
Step 3. Select OneDrive
Step 4. Click and drag the video file you want to send to the OneDrive window
You can also press the Upload button at the top of the screen, then press the Files button and select the uploaded video.
- The video upload will start immediately. The upload process may take a while to complete.
- You must keep the OneDrive page open until the file upload is complete.
Step 5. Close the OneDrive tab once the video has finished uploading
Now, you are ready to send the video via email.
Step 6. Click the +New button
It's at the top of the page, just above the " Inbox " heading.
Step 7. Click the Attach button
It's next to the paperclip icon, above the new message field, on the left side of the screen.

It's at the top of the page.
Step 9. Select the video file you want to send
Step 10. Click the Next button
Step 11. Select Attach as a OneDrive file
This option is only offered as the only option, unless the video file you want to send is less than 20 GB in size.
Step 12. Type in the email details
These details include the recipient's email address, the subject/title of the message, and the body of the email.
Step 13. Click the Send button
Your video file will be shared in the form of a link. Once the recipient opens the file by clicking on the link, he will get the option to download the video.
Unlike Gmail, files sent via OneDrive are automatically considered files shared with the recipient of the message
Method 3 of 3: Using Mail Drop for iCloud Drive (iCloud Mail)
Step 1. Open the iCloud Mail website mail

Step 6. Click the Done button

The button is marked with a pen and notebook icon and appears at the top of the page.

Once the email meets the required criteria, your video will be sent to the recipient's inbox in the form of a link.
To view the sent video, the recipient needs to download it from the email first
Tips
- At most cloud storage providers, you can purchase more cloud storage space (usually for a monthly fee).
- Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox have mobile versions of the app. If you store large videos on your iOS or Android device, you can upload them to the cloud storage service via your device (provided you have sufficient storage space). After that, you can send it via email, either from an email manager app or from your computer.
- Save the video file you want to send on your desktop before sending it to make it easier for you to find it during the file selection process.
