This wikiHow teaches you how to sign out of your Apple ID and iCloud account through the settings menu of your iPhone or iPad.

Method 1 of 2: On iOS 10.3 or Later Version
Step 1. Open the iPhone settings menu
The settings menu icon or “Settings” looks like a gray gear that is usually displayed on the device's home screen.
Step 2. Touch Apple ID at the top of the menu
Your Apple ID name and photo appear at the top of the settings menu. Touch the name to open the Apple ID menu.
Step 3. Swipe the screen and touch the Sign Out button
It's a red button near the bottom of the Apple ID menu.
Step 4. Enter the Apple ID password
You need to turn off the feature Find My iPhone ” to sign out of your Apple ID. If it's still on, you'll be asked to enter your Apple ID password in the pop-up box to turn the feature off.
Step 5. Tap Turn Off on the pop-up box
The “Find My iPhone” feature will be turned off on the device.
Step 6. Select the type of data you want to keep on the device
You can keep a copy of your iCloud contacts and Safari preferences after you sign out of ID. Slide the switch of the type of data you want to save to the active position or “On”. The switch color will change to green.
If you want to delete data from your device, it will still be stored in iCloud. You can log back into your account and sync data to your device whenever needed
Step 7. Touch Sign Out
It's a blue button in the upper-right corner of the screen. You need to confirm the action on the pop-up box.
Step 8. Touch Sign Out on the pop-up window to confirm
After that, you will be signed out of the Apple ID on the device.
Method 2 of 2: On iOS 10.2.1 or Older Version
Step 1. Open the device settings menu
The settings menu or “Settings” looks like a gray gear icon that is usually displayed on the device's home screen.
Step 2. Swipe the screen and select iCloud
It's next to the blue cloud icon in the lower half of the settings menu.
Step 3. Swipe the screen and tap Sign Out
It's a red button near the bottom of the iCloud menu. A confirmation pop-up window will appear at the bottom of the screen.
Step 4. Touch the Sign Out button on the window to confirm
This button is shown in red writing. Another pop-up window will be displayed.
Step 5. Touch Delete from My iPhone/iPad
This option is shown in red text. After signing out of your Apple ID, all iCloud Notes app entries will be deleted from the device. Touch this option to confirm the decision. Another pop-up window will appear after that.
Notes app entries will still be available in iCloud. You can log back into your account and sync your data at any time
Step 6. Decide if you want to save Safari data
Safari tabs, bookmarks, and browsing history are synced to every device that uses the same Apple ID. You are free to keep or delete Safari data that is already synced on your device.
Step 7. Enter your Apple ID password
You need to turn off the feature Find My iPhone ” to sign out of your Apple ID. If the feature is still active, you'll be asked to enter your Apple ID password to turn it off.
Step 8. Touch Turn Off on the pop-up window
The “Find My iPhone” feature will be turned off and you will be signed out of your Apple ID.
