This wikiHow teaches you how to sign out of your Google Chrome account on a computer, phone, or tablet. You can sign out of your Google Chrome account by disabling sync. This way, Google Chrome won't sync Google settings, bookmarks, history, extensions, passwords and services from other devices.

Method 1 of 3: On a PC or Mac Computer
Step 1. Open Google Chrome
The browser is marked by a red, green, yellow, and blue ball icon. You can find it in the “Start” menu on a Windows computer or in the “Applications” folder on a Mac.
Step 2. Click the profile photo
It's in the top-right corner of the Chrome window. The menu will expand afterwards.
If you haven't selected a profile photo, an alternate circle icon will appear in that area. The image on the icon will be different
Step 3. Click Sync is on
This option is the first option under the profile photo in the account menu. You can see it next to the icon of two green circular arrows. The settings menu (“Settings”) of Google Chrome will load.
Step 4. Click Turn off
This option is the first option at the top of Google Chrome's settings menu. You can see it on the right side of the profile icon. A pop-up warning window will appear afterwards.
Step 5. Click Turn off
The sync feature will be disabled and you will be logged out of your Google account on Google Chrome. You'll also see another image (displayed randomly) in place of your profile photo in the top-right corner of the Google Chrome window.
To log back into Google Chrome, click the image in the top right corner (the area usually occupied by profile photos). Click " Turn sync on " After that, log back in using your Google account email address and password.
Method 2 of 3: On Android Phone or Tablet
Step 1. Open Chrome
Touch the red, green, and yellow wheel icon with the blue dot in the center to open Google Chrome. This icon is on either the home screen, application menu, or “Google” folder.
Step 2. Touch
It's the three vertical dots icon in the top-right corner of the Google Chrome window. A drop-down menu will appear after that.
Step 3. Touch Settings
It's at the bottom of the drop-down menu that appears when you tap the three-dot icon.
Step 4. Touch the account name and email address
The name and address are next to the profile icon, at the top of the settings menu (“Settings”).
Step 5. Touch Sign out and turn off sync
This option is at the bottom of the list of email accounts that your Android phone or tablet is connected to. A pop-up warning window will be displayed.
Step 6. Touch Continue
It's in the lower-right corner of the warning window. You will be signed out of your Google Chrome account on your Android phone or tablet.
- Additionally, you can check the box next to "Also clear your Chrome data from this device" to clear history, settings, passwords, and extensions from your Android phone or tablet.
- To log back into your Google Chrome account, tap the three-dot icon and select “ Settings " Touch " Continue as [your username] " or " Choose another account ” and touch another account, or select “ Add account ” and sign in using another Google account email address and password. Choose " Yes, I'm in ” in the lower right corner of the screen.
Method 3 of 3: On iPhone or iPad
Step 1. Open Google Chrome
Touch the red, green, and yellow wheel icon with the blue dot in the center to open Google Chrome. This icon is on one of the device's home screens.
Step 2. Touch…
It's the three horizontal dots icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will open afterwards.
Step 3. Touch Settings
It's at the bottom of the drop-down menu that appears after you tap the three-dot icon.
Step 4. Touch the account name
The name is at the top of the settings menu (“Settings”). You can see it next to the profile icon.
Step 5. Touch Sign out of Chrome
This option is at the bottom of the account menu. A pop-up warning window will be displayed.
Step 6. Touch Sign Out
It's in the lower-right corner of the warning window. You will exit Google Chrome and the sync feature will be disabled.

To log back into your account, tap the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner of the screen and tap “ Settings " Choose " Continue as [username] " and touch " Continue " If the displayed username is not your username, select “ Not [your email address] ” under the username list. Touch another account and select “ Continue, or select " Add account ” and log in with another email account's email address and password. After that, touch " Okay, Got it!
