This wikiHow teaches you how to find and download free apps for iPhone and iPad through the App Store. However, you can't download paid apps for free through the App Store.

Step 1. Open the App Store app
Tap the App Store icon, which resembles a white “A” on a blue background.
Step 2. Touch Search
It's a magnifying glass icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.
On some iPad devices, the “ Search ” is represented by the search bar in the upper right corner of the screen. In such a situation, touch the search bar and skip the next step.

Step 5. Touch Search
This blue button is on the keyboard. After that, the App Store will search for the word or phrase you entered and display a list of applications that match/related to the search entry.
Step 6. Select an application
Browse the list of apps until you find the app you want, then touch the name of the app to open its page.
Step 7. Touch the GET button
It's a blue button on the right side of the page.
Step 8. Enter Touch ID when prompted
If Touch ID is already enabled for the App Store, scan for Touch ID to begin the process of downloading the app to your iPhone or iPad.
If you don't have Touch ID enabled for the App Store or the iPhone/iPad you're using doesn't support Touch ID, enter your Apple ID password and tap the “ Install ' when prompted.
Step 9. Wait for the app to finish downloading
When the app is downloaded, you will see a square with a progress circle on the right side of the screen. The app has finished downloading after a full circle.
You can stop the app download process by touching the square icon
Step 10. Touch the OPEN button
