The Samsung Galaxy S2 (SII) is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy S. Here's how to unlock it so you can insert your own SIM card.
Step
Step 1. Check the network status
Check if the phone is network locked by typing *#7465625# on the keypad. Sometimes the phone can be unlocked while showing the network logo.
Step 2. Get the IMEI number of the phone
Type *#06# on the keypad. A screen will display the IMEI number. Write down this number for later use.
Step 3. Contact your network operator and ask for the unlock code
In some cases the network provider will not provide this unlock code until you have used their service long enough (6 to 12 months). If your carrier doesn't provide the code, you can get it from a commercial unlock website.
Step 4. Get unlock code
You can get them over the phone, from your network operator, or from the email you received from the opening site.
Step 5. Install a new SIM card
Remove the old card and install a new network card of your choice.
Step 6. Turn on your Samsung phone
You will be asked for an unlock code.
Step 7. Enter the unlock code
Enter the code you received on your Samsung device and your phone should be unlocked!
