Dinner time had to be postponed because the serving bowls to be used stuck together and were difficult to separate? Even if the situation sucks, don't worry. Basically, you just have to soak the bottom bowl in warm water, then fill the top bowl with ice cubes to quickly separate the two. If that doesn't work, try rubbing the oil along the mouth of the bottom bowl so that the bowl above slides off easily.
Step
Method 1 of 2: Using Cooking Oil
Step 1. Pour some oil into the gap between the bowls
The trick, wet a kitchen paper towel with a little cooking oil, then wipe the tissue into the gap between the top and bottom bowls. Then, twist or pull the bowl until they are completely released.
You can use olive oil, vegetable oil, or other cooking oil to separate the bowls that are sticking together
Step 2. Spray the oil between the bowls
If you don't have liquid cooking oil on hand, or if you feel that using liquid cooking oil isn't effective, try using cooking oil that comes in a spray bottle. The trick, simply spray the oil along the mouth of the bottom of the bowl.
Gently pull or twist the bowl until the two are completely separated
Step 3. Wait for the gaps between the bowls to begin to loosen
Sometimes, the effectiveness of the oil is not immediately apparent. Therefore, if the bowls remain stuck together after turning or pulling, try waiting 20-30 seconds for the oil to seep between the sticking bowls.
If necessary, brush or spray the edges of the bowl with extra cooking oil
Method 2 of 2: Using Hot Water and Ice
Step 1. Fill the sink with hot water
Close the sink drain, then place the two bowls stuck together in it. Then, turn on the hot water tap and wait until the bottom bowl is submerged. Make sure not a bit of water gets into the top bowl, okay!
Step 2. Place a handful of ice cubes in the top bowl, and let it rest for 10 minutes
The difference in temperature will make the top bowl shrink in size and the bottom bowl size up. As a result, the two can be separated more easily.
Step 3. Turn the two bowls in different directions
For example, the bottom bowl can be rotated clockwise, while the top bowl can be rotated the other way around. If necessary, use gloves that are usually used for washing dishes to strengthen your hand grip.
Tips
- Before placing one bowl in another, try to separate the two with a cloth or paper towel so they don't stick together for future use.
- If the bowl or cup sticking together isn't too big, simply turn the bowl or cup over and rinse them with hot water.
- Always be careful when separating glass or ceramic bowls.
