Superglue is an excellent adhesive substance that can firmly glue a wide variety of surfaces and materials -- including your skin. Fortunately, there are several types of ingredients that are known to remove superglue from skin: acetone, lotion, vaseline, and oil.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Remove Super Glue with Acetone
Step 1. Pour the acetone into a container
Find a container large enough to dampen your hands. Pour the acetone into the container until halfway.
- Acetone is the main ingredient in most nail polish removers. This material can be obtained at drug or chemical stores.
- Do not pour into the container until it is full.
- If your skin is sensitive, dilute acetone with water.
Step 2. Soak the affected skin in acetone
Soak the skin with the super glue in acetone. Let it soak for two or three minutes.
Step 3. Untie the glue
Gently rub the skin to loosen the glue. Once the knots are released, remove your hands from the bath. Remove glue from hands carefully.
- Avoid soaking your hands in acetone for more than ten minutes. Acetone can irritate the skin.
- If you find it difficult to untie the glue, pause and let it soak a little longer.
- Do not remove the glue from the skin forcibly. This action is dangerous and can damage the skin tissue.
Step 4. Wet and make hands damp
Wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap. This process can remove residual glue and acetone. Dry your hands. Acetone can dry out your skin, so it's a good idea to use a moisturizer after washing your hands.
Method 2 of 3: Using Vaseline or Lotion
Step 1. Apply Vaseline or lotion to the skin
Both vaseline and lotion are able to release glue on the skin. Apply a large amount on all the parts affected by the glue.
Step 2. Massage the affected area for a few minutes
Massage the affected area with vaseline and lotion. As soon as you feel the glue start to come off, pull off the attached skin. Gently peel off the remaining glue on the skin.
Do not remove the glue from the skin forcibly. This action is dangerous and can damage the skin tissue
Step 3. Wash your hands
Wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap to remove any residual glue. Dry your hands.
Method 3 of 3: Removing the Glue with Oil
Step 1. Select the type of oil
Palm, almond, and baby oils can release superglue. If this oil is not available, try another vegetable oil such as olive or coconut oil.
Step 2. Apply the oil using a cloth
Use a clean, dry cloth to apply the oil on the affected area. Massage with oil of the place. Keep applying the oil until you feel the superglue start to come off. Gently peel off the skin and peel off any remaining glue.
Do not remove the glue from the skin forcibly. This action is dangerous and can damage the skin tissue
Step 3. Wash your hands
Wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap to remove any residual glue and oil. The oil can make your hands feel very soft and moisturized.
