Blenders will be easier to clean if done immediately after use! The blender can be scrubbed with a sponge for a much cleaner cleaning, or simply water and dish soap for a quick and efficient way. If you don't have time to clean the blender right away, fill the blender jar with the soap and water mixture and let it sit.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Cleaning the Blender Glass
Step 1. Put the liquid dish soap into the blender glass
Fill half a glass with warm water, then add a few drops of liquid soap. Run the blender on low power for about 1 minute until the glass is foamy. Discard the soap mixture in the glass, then rinse the glass thoroughly.
Don't forget to put the lid on! Otherwise, soapy water will splatter everywhere
Step 2. Use lemon to clean the stain
Fill the blender with a few drops of dish soap and water until it is half full. Add half of the roughly chopped lemon. Turn on the blender for about a minute. This will remove the stain and make the blender tumbler clear.
In addition to lemon, you can also use a little white vinegar. It may not smell as good as a lemon, but it is just as effective
Step 3. Scrub stubborn stains
Use a toothbrush, steel wool, or a coarse sponge, depending on the strength of the abrasive you want. Add a little liquid dish soap and water to the blender, then scrub the stain with a sponge until it's clean.
Step 4. Soak a very dirty blender overnight
Mix baking soda, dish soap, and vinegar. Put a cup of white vinegar in a blender glass, then add about half a cup of baking soda and a few drops of liquid dish soap. Mixed bubbles will appear and then subside on their own. Blend the mixture together, then let it soak into the blender glass for a few hours.
After that, remove the contents of the blender glass and rinse the glass until it is completely clean. If the blender still smells of baking soda or vinegar, it's best to fill a glass with soap and water and leave it overnight
Step 5. Let the blender dry
After cleaning the inside of the blender glass, dry the glass by placing it upside down. The lid of the blender can only be installed when the inside of the blender jar is completely dry. Otherwise, moisture can cause condensation and allow bacteria to grow.
Method 2 of 3: Cleaning the Blender Base
Step 1. Wipe the base of the blender
Soak a towel or sponge in a mixture of warm water and soap, then wring it out until it's damp. Gently wipe the base of the blender to clean up any food or liquid spills on it. Focus on the areas where the substance has accumulated or dried up.
Don't wash the blender base! The blender base has an electronic motor and a blender control system. All of these parts will not stand if exposed to a lot of liquid. Make sure you're only cleaning the outside of the blender, and not soaking the base
Step 2. Clean the blender base before it dries
The base will be more difficult to clean if the food or liquid mixture has stuck to the surface. Certain substances when dry can stick together, even staining the blender!
Step 3. Use a cotton swab to clean the control knobs
If there is a buildup of dirt in the control crevices of the blender, a cloth or sponge is not sufficient to clean it. Dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol, then use it to clean the area around the buttons. Rubbing alcohol can remove dirt and make the blender a little more pleasant to use.
The rubbing alcohol will evaporate quickly and dry. If there is still liquid residue in the base of the blender, wipe it off with a dry cloth
Step 4. Done
Method 3 of 3: Cleaning the Blender Blades
Step 1. Remove and clean the blender blades separately
If the blades of the blender are still dirty after using dish soap and glass cleaning, wash them separately. Remove the glass holder from the blender base, then remove the blender blades from the blender holder section. Wash the blade with hot water and soap. Scrub with a toothbrush or sponge to remove stubborn dirt.
Step 2. Use polident tablets
For very dirty blender blades, use polydent tablets to clean them. Remove the blades from the blender stand, then immerse them in the water containing one polident tablet. Polident can clean sticky stains.
- If you don't want to have to remove the blades, they can be cleaned by keeping them in the blender jar. Pour hot water over the blade, then add two polydent tablets. Leave it for at least 30 minutes.
- Polident is a commercial antibacterial and teeth whitening agent. These tablets are available at pharmacies or supermarkets.
Step 3. Lubricate the gasket
Once the blades are back in the blender, don't forget to clean the gasket, which is the piece of rubber that separates the stand and base of the blender. Pour one tbsp. vegetable or olive oil onto the gasket to maintain its flexibility.
Tips
- All components of the blender must be dry before storing.
- Wipe the base and wash the blender stand as soon as you use it. Liquid or food residue that dries and hardens later will be much more difficult to remove.
- Many models of blenders that hold the mounting bolts can be opened. This will make it easier for you to clean the blades.
Warning
- Don't forget to unplug the blender's power cord before you wipe the base of the blender with a damp cloth.
- Be careful handling the blender blades.
- Make sure the lid on the blender is on while you grind the cleaning liquid.
