This wikiHow teaches you how to find out who unfollowed you on Instagram. Since Instagram has blocked a large number of apps that retrieve this information from accounts, the easiest and most consistent way to check for users who have unfollowed you is to check your follower list, either through the Instagram app or the Instagram website on a computer. Since April 2018, an Android app called "Follow Cop" also allows you to track the followers you've lost since you installed the app. Meanwhile, there are no free apps for iPhone or iPad that can track lost Instagram followers.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Using the Instagram App
Step 1. Open Instagram
Tap the Instagram app icon, which looks like a colorful camera front. After that, the Instagram feed page will be displayed as long as you are logged in to your account.
If you are not logged into your account, touch the link “ Log in ” if necessary, then enter the account username/email address/phone number and password.
Step 2. Touch the "Profile" icon
It's in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Step 3. Touch followers
This tab is at the top of the screen. Above it, there is a number indicating your current number of followers.
For example, if you have 100 followers, tap “ 100 followers ” on this page.
Step 4. Find lost followers
Go through the list and look for names that are missing. If you don't see a specific user who was previously known to follow you, it's possible that he or she has unfollowed you.
- This is hard to do if you've recently lost a large number of followers, but you can get an idea of who's unfollowing if they are users you also follow or interact with frequently.
- The user may have deleted his Instagram account. You can check if he still has an account by touching the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen and searching for his name.
Method 2 of 3: Using Instagram Website
Step 1. Open Instagram
Visit https://www.instagram.com/ through your computer's web browser. After that, the main Instagram page will be displayed if you are already logged in to your account.
If you are not logged into your account, click the link “ Log in ” at the bottom of the page if necessary, then enter your username (or email address/phone number) and account password.
Step 2. Click the "Profile" icon
It's a human-shaped icon in the upper-right corner of the page.
Step 3. Click followers
This tab is at the top of the page, just below the username. You can see the current number of followers in this tab.
For example, if you have 100 followers, click the tab “ 100 followers ” on this page.
Step 4. Look for the missing users
Browse the list of followers from looking for names that disappeared. If you don't see a specific user who was previously known to be following you, it's possible that he or she has unfollowed you.
- This is hard to do if you've recently lost a large number of followers, but you can get an idea of who's unfollowing if they are users you also follow or interact with frequently.
- The user in question may have deleted his Instagram account. You can check if he still has an account by searching for his name in the search bar at the top of the page.
Method 3 of 3: Using Follow Cop App on Android Device
Step 1. Understand how this method works
Follow Cop is an Android-only app (and only available for the Android platform) that records every time an Instagram user unfollows you. Unfortunately, this app requires your account login information in order to determine whether or not you have lost followers.
- Follow Cop also doesn't allow you to find out which users have disappeared before. This app only records the followers that have been lost since you logged in to the app.
- Although Follow Cop does not use Instagram account data to upload or edit profiles, your profile will automatically follow the Follow Cop Instagram page.
- If you want to follow this method on a computer, you can download and install the BlueStacks Android emulator to run the app on your computer.
Step 2. Download the Follow Cop app
open
“ Google Play Store ”, and follow these steps:
- Touch the search bar.
- Type follow copy
- Touch " Unfollowers for Instagram, Follow Cop ”
- Touch " INSTALL ”
- Choose " ACCEPT ” when asked
- If you want to open Google Play Store on Bluestacks, click the tab “ My Apps ” in the upper left corner of the program window, select the folder “ System app, and click the icon “ Play Store ”.
Step 3. Open Follow Cop
Touch the button “ OPEN ” in the Google Play Store window, or tap the Follow Cop app icon. After that, you will be taken to the Follow Cop login page.
Step 4. Log in using your Instagram account
Type the account username and password into the "Username" and "Password" fields, then tap the “ LOGIN ”.
Step 5. Select an account
Tap the Instagram account at the top of the page.
Step 6. Tap Recent Unfollowers
It's in the middle of the page.
Step 7. Close ads if necessary
Touch the button “ X" or " Close ” in one corner of the screen to close the ad. After that, you will be taken to the “Recent Unfollowers” page which allows the app to start monitoring the followers of your profile.
Some ads require you to wait for 5-10 seconds before the “ X ” is displayed.
Step 8. Close Follow Cop, then reopen it if you want to check followers
By returning to the segment Recent Unfollowers In the Follow Cop app, you can see a list of users (by name) who have unfollowed your Instagram account.
