This wikiHow teaches you how to delete spam emails from your inbox, and how to avoid them in the future. You can also mark emails from spammers so that later emails from that sender will go directly to the "Spam" folder.
Step
Method 1 of 9: Preventing Spam in General
Step 1. Try not to give out email addresses if possible
Typically, you use email addresses for bank accounts, social networks, and official websites (such as employment services). However, if you try not to post your email on sites you only visit once or twice, the number of emails you receive will be significantly reduced.
Step 2. Look for the " unsubscribe " button in the email
When you receive an email from a service like Best Buy, LinkedIn, or a blogging site, you can usually choose to unsubscribe by opening one of their emails, then looking for a link or button that says "Unsubscribe", and clicking it.
- The " unsubscribe " button could say something like " Click here to stop receiving these emails " or something similar.
- After clicking the " unsubscribe " button or link, you may be taken to a web page to confirm your decision.
Step 3. Create a secondary email account for spamming
From time to time, you may need to provide a service with an active email address to confirm that you are an active Internet user. So that you don't receive spam from other services that can buy email addresses from the original service, just use an email address that you don't use as your primary account.
You don't need to apply this to official accounts like Google, Facebook, and so on
Step 4. Block spammers' email addresses
How to block it will vary depending on the email provider you use, but you can usually do this from within the spammer's email using a desktop computer.
