These days, creating a website is very easy. There are hundreds of free apps, design websites, and templates that you can use. There are many kinds of storage sites (hosts) on the internet. However, now the difficult thing is to get visitors for your site. There are already too many websites out there. However, there are some simple tricks you can do to quickly put your website in the top Google search rankings.
Step
Part 1 of 3: Building a Reputation on the Internet
Step 1. Connect your website with social media
Every time you write a new page, send a tweet. If you post new photos, also post some to Facebook and provide a link to your site. If your company is looking for new employees, write a short article and post it to LinkedIn. Today, social media is a way for people to find information. You must use social media actively.
- Post something to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, at least once a day.
- Use the sub-Reddit. Forums with these specific topics can bring you the right market. There are thousands of sub-Reddits; Your page that discusses tractor maintenance can be discussed at length on the /r/tractors sub-Reddit.
- Learn how to use hashtags and links effectively on social media.
Step 2. Create a caption that grabs attention and makes people click (clickable)
The title of your article must be able to attract the reader. There are several trends that have proven to be very effective. When promoting your website, use words like these:
- "Ten (noun) at most…"
- "…before you die."
- Adverbs like “cool”, “great”, “unbelievable”, etc.
- "You won't believe…"
Step 3. Respond to current events
You have to appear on the wave of the latest trends by responding to current events. There's not much you have to do. For example, you could comment on a movie that just came out with a short post, an image showing a sports team that just won, or a tweet about the latest scandal.
Step 4. Provide sufficient amount of content to keep visitors on your site
Getting visitors to your site is tough, but it's even harder to keep them on your site. Make sure that on your site there are some other links that they can look at. Try linking the words of a post to another page on your site, or providing a "Read More" section at the side of the page to keep visitors looking at your site. This will keep people coming back to your site and increase the number of visits.
Step 5. Buy ad spots
You can buy ad spots on Facebook and Google. You can pay these companies to display your site on relevant pages. On those pages, your site will be shown as one of the top links. Try to remember, have you ever seen those little yellow links at the top of the Google search page? Those links are advertisements. Paying for advertising spots is a good way to build a reputation on the internet.
Step 6. Remember that this business will become easier as your number of visitors increases
The more people who visit your site, the easier it will be to get other visitors. This means that the first few months are the most difficult. Be patient and keep promoting your site on social media, and visitors will come.
Part 2 of 3: Optimizing Traffic from Search Engines
Step 1. Learn Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Search Engine Optimization, or OMP for short, is the art of putting links to your page at the top of someone's Google search. There is no fixed technique regarding OMP, but it is what distinguishes the most visited sites from the sites on page 8. Search engines will determine the importance of your site based on the four categories below:
-
Content:
Search engines, such as Google, will see the text, title, and theme of your site. For example, if you have 5 to 10 pages on your site with the words "tractor repair skills," you're more likely to appear at the top when someone searches for "tractor repair."
-
Site speed:
How fast can people open your site? A lot of videos, images, and graphics will slow down your site, and cause its rankings to drop.
-
Authority:
This is determined by how often other people link to your site. If other sites judge that your content is worthy of citing, the search engines will put your site first.
-
User experience:
It is judged based on how long people stay on your site. A site containing interesting, informative, and fun pages will get a high score, and a high level as well.
Step 2. Make your site as specific as possible
There are millions of pages about fashion trends in Hollywood. However, there are fewer than a million pages on finding and designing the fabrics needed for action movie costumes. The more specific the topic you cover, the more special your site will be, and the easier it will be to promote. You can't fight CNN.com for the stories they publish, but you can write stories about them from your point of view.
Try to think like a search engine. You will be lost among the millions of sites titled "News" or "Coverage". You will be more easily seen if your title is "Regional Politics in West Sumatra"
Step 3. When writing, pay attention to keywords
What are the words that conclude your writing? What is the main purpose of your site? The more you can weave these terms in a non-contrived way, the higher your chances of appearing on sites like Google or Yahoo. For example, your page might be about Padang cuisine. To allow search engines to find your page, do the following:
- Enter the words "Culinary Padang" in the title of your site.
- Use the phrase "Culinary Padang" in every article, at least once.
- Use the words "Padang" or "culinary" in your site's URL. For example, if your site is culinary.com, create your page titled "Rendang Padang" (www.kuliner.com/Rendang-Padang).
Step 4. Use tools like Alexa and Google Toolbar to find out where your site is ranking
These tools can tell you where visitors came from and the search terms they used to find your site. This information is invaluable when promoting your site. For example, if most of your visitors come after searching for “cute dog pictures”, you can now promote your site to Twitter accounts and dog lover forums.
Step 5. Create backlinks to your own page
If you wrote a semi-relevant page two months ago, link it to your new article! This will make people more likely to browse other content on your site, as well as tell search engines that your site has a lot of good content.
Step 6. Provide descriptions for all your images
Image descriptions will make it easier for search engines to determine what's on your page. Use keywords when describing images. Your page will be at the top of the search results.
Part 3 of 3: Creating an Active Community
Step 1. Recognize that most visitors to your site are returning visitors
It's impossible to build a consistent and high number of visits to your site if people don't come back every day. On the one hand, you do need to find new markets and visitors, but you also have to provide reasons why old readers should continue to visit your site. Otherwise, your site will lose visitors.
Step 2. Submit new content 2-4 times per week
You have to keep people up to date and keep them commenting. Before long, they will share your site with others and you will get more visits, likes, etc. Make sure your site is a trustworthy source of information, the first site people open when they turn on their computer, regardless of the topic.
Step 3. Provide a way for your visitors to opt in
Everyone loves contests, polls, or gift giving. You can include your visitors by asking for their opinion in the comments section or drawing prizes that are themed on your site. If you can get your community to interact with each other, there will be a lot of visitors to your site.
Step 4. Answer the comments on your site
Make sure your fans and followers know you can see them. When they leave a comment, they might as well expect an answer. By answering, they will know that you care about their comments and that you can see their comments. They will admire your hospitality and become loyal visitors.
However, you can't answer everyone. You should be wise and only answer people who seem interested in the discussion. People like this will attract others and provide more content on your pages
Tips
- Record your progress. Create an Excel file containing the number of visitors to your site and the keywords you can use.
- Don't expect instant success. Building a site will take time.
