At first glance, it seems impossible to right-click on your new Mac. How can you do a right click if there is only one button? Luckily you don't have to lose the convenience of a right-click menu just because you don't have two mouse buttons. Stay productive while working with your Mac by following the right-click guide below.
Step
Method 1 of 4: Control-Click Metode Method
Step 1. Press the Control key
Press and hold the Control (Ctrl) key while you click the mouse button.
- This is identical to right-clicking using a two-button mouse.
- You can release the Control lock after clicking.
- This method works on a 1-button mouse or MacBook trackpad, or with the built-in buttons on a separate Apple Trackpad.
Step 2. Select the menu item you want
When you Control-click, the appropriate contextual menu will appear.
The example below is a contextual menu in the Firefox browser

Method 4 of 4: Apple's Mighty Mouse Method
Step 1. Buy the Mighty Mouse
Understand that all two-button mice can be programmed to work with a right click. Similarly, one-button mice manufactured by Apple such as the Mighty Mouse or the wireless Mighty Mouse can be programmed to react to clicks on the right.
Step 2. Open your Trackpad preferences as described earlier
Under the Apple menu, click System Preferences, Services then click Services Preferences.
