If you buy a loaf of bread and want it to retain its flavor and texture, you'll want to heat it in the oven for 15 minutes. You can also heat the bread on the stove, but some breads will be tougher (and never try a microwave oven). If you're looking for a classic and quick way, the best way is to make toast.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Using the Oven
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius first
This temperature is the best temperature for heating bread. A temperature higher than 175 will make the bread burn faster. While temperatures lower than 175 will require a longer heating time so the bread becomes dry. If you want soft bread and dry skin, the temperature of 175 degrees Celsius is the right choice.
- It's best if you cut the bread after it's heated. Bread that is cut before heating will heat up faster and have a hard surface if you're not careful.
- But if you want to make breadcrumbs or bread slices, you can cut them into cubes. Add melted butter, a pinch of salt, pepper and garlic powder. You will get a very delicious salad sprinkles.
Step 2. Wrap the bread in foil (cracks)
The slats will protect the crust and help prevent scorching when the inside of the bread is heated. If you try to reheat it without wrapping it in a basket, the crust will be scorched and tough.
Step 3. Heat the bread for 10 to 15 minutes
For small or thin breads such as baguettes, long, thin French breads, the heating time limit is up to 10 minutes. For larger, thicker loaves of bread, heat for 15 minutes to allow the heat to reach the inside of the loaf.
Step 4. Take the bread out of the oven then serve
Serve the bread as soon as possible so the temperature doesn't drop any further. A third heating may cause the bread's taste and texture to change.
Method 2 of 3: Using the Stove
Step 1. Wrap the bread in an aluminum basket
This will help heat the bread evenly and prevent it from burning during heating.
Step 2. Place the bread in a covered pan
Use the smallest possible pan that can still hold the bread. Cover the pan when you are about to start heating the bread.
Step 3. Place the pot on the stove over low heat
This small fire will heat the bread slowly. Allow the bread to heat for 5 minutes, then take it out and check that the whole loaf is perfectly heated. If it's not hot enough, place it in a skillet and warm it for a few minutes.
Another alternative is to wrap the bread and steam it in a steaming pot over boiling water. Wrap the bread well so that moisture does not enter and make it mushy. This method is not able to maintain a crisp texture in the crust of the bread, but it is perfect for yesterday's leftover bread, hard, and dry
Method 3 of 3: Making Toast
Step 1. Cut the bread
Use a bread knife to cut them into thin strips that are the size of your toaster, but which can stay whole when you butter or bake a sandwich.
- Keep in mind that the thinner the slices of bread you make, the faster the bread will bake and the crispier it will be.
- You can make thick, bulky toast in the oven if the toaster won't fit.
Step 2. Toast the bread in a toaster
Toaster machines are the best answer if you are looking for a quick, easy and effective way. Put the bread in the bread gap of the toaster, change the setting to your desired doneness, and push the knob. At that time the toaster will work. The bread in the machine gap will go into the machine to be baked. When the spring pops out the bread, it's time to enjoy your toast.
-
Be careful when you take the bread out of the toaster. You should let it cool for a while so that your hands don't get too hot when you hold it.
-
Never use a knife or fork to remove bread from the toaster. Unplug the toaster and take the bread.
Step 3. Try baking bread in the oven
This method will add to the delicious taste of the bread. The texture of the bread baked in the oven is the best compared to others. Put the broiler in the oven and heat it. Place the slices of bread on a baking sheet or parchment paper. Place the baking sheet under the broiler for two or three minutes or until the bread is toasted to your desired doneness.
-
For a tastier toast, spread some butter on the surface of the bread before you bake it.
-
You can also melt cheese on top of the bread for a delicious afternoon snack
