Many people from all over the world enjoy watching movies. Unfortunately, not all films offer subtitles that have been translated into their native language. As a result, you may not be able to watch movies in English or other languages. To overcome this, you can add subtitles obtained from the internet or make your own. Translating subtitles is not very difficult. However, you have to be patient and spend a lot of time.

Method 1 of 2: Downloading New Subtitles
Step 1. Be aware that you can only add subtitles to movies on a computer
If you can't find a specific subtitle in the "Settings" or "Language" option in the DVD menu, you'll need to use special software and tools to add it. DVDs have a protection system and cannot be re-copied. Also, the DVD player cannot be used to add new subtitles. However, you can add any subtitles to your movie if you play it on your computer.

Step 2. Find the movie you want to add subtitles to on your computer and place it in a separate folder
Find the folder or movie file in the Finder or Windows Explorer. Most likely the file is in ".mov", ".avi" or ".mp4" format. Usually you don't need to set it to add subtitles. However, you'll need to find the movie file and link it to the subtitle file. Subtitle file names usually end with the ". SRT" extension. This file contains the subtitle text and a timestamp (a timer that determines when the subtitle is displayed on the screen).
- You must save your movie and ". SRT" files in a special folder. This is done so that the film can display subtitles correctly.
- Some files may have a ". SUB" extension.
Step 3. Search for subtitle files with keyword "Movie Name + Language + Subtitle"
Open a search engine and look for subtitles that have been translated into the desired language. For example, if you want to find Indonesian subtitles for the movie X-Men: First Class, you can search for "X-Men: First Class Indonesian Subtitles" in the search engine. Usually the search results that appear on the first page provide the required subtitle files. Also, this file is small and probably doesn't contain a virus.
Step 4. Find the desired subtitle and download the ". SRT" file
Download the ". SRT" file from a website that provides subtitles, such as Subscene, MovieSubtitles, or YiFiSubtitles. Make sure you don't download files from pop-up windows that appear on websites and only download ". SRT" or ". SUB" files. If you feel that the website you are visiting is unsafe, get out of there and look for another website.
Step 5. Rename the subtitle file with the name of the movie file
If the movie file is named "FavouriteMovie. AVI", you'll need to name the subtitle file "FavouriteMovie. SRT" as well. Look for the folder where the downloaded subtitle file is saved (usually in the " Downloads " folder) and make sure you name it the right one. The ". SRT" file must have the same name as the movie file name.
Step 6. Save the

Step 1. Understand the purpose of making subtitles
Basically making subtitles is the process of translating from the source language to the target language. To translate subtitles, you are not only required to master grammar, but also knowledge related to the text you want to translate. For example, if you want to translate an automotive magazine, you must master information related to machines and vehicles to translate it well. If you want to translate subtitles that appear in a particular scene, there are a few things to consider when translating them:

Step 2. Use a subtitle maker website to quickly and easily add subtitles to your movie file
Subtitle creation websites, such as DotSub, Amara, and Universal Subtitler, allow you to watch movies while creating subtitles. When the subtitles are finished, the website will create an appropriate ". SRT" file for the movie. Although they have their own usage, each website has the same format for creating subtitles:
- Specify when the subtitle text appears.
- Write subtitle text.

- Download the ". SRT" file and place it in the folder where the movie files are stored.
Step 3. Create subtitles manually using Notepad
You can create subtitles manually if you wish. However, the process of making subtitles can be completed more quickly if you use a program. To do this, open a word processing program, such as Notepad (for Windows) or TextEdit (for Mac) and make sure you know the proper subtitle format. Both programs can be obtained for free and provided by the operating system. Before starting subtitle creation, click "Save As" and name it "MovieName. SRT." After that, set the encoding to "ANSI" for English subtitles and " UTF-8 " for other languages. After that, create subtitle text. The subtitle sections listed below have separate lines. Step 4. Create subtitles using a movie editor so you don't have to use the file

This method allows you to create subtitles while watching a movie. In addition, you can also adjust the location, color, and font of the subtitle text. Open the movie file using a movie editor, such as Premier, iMovie, or Windows Movie Maker, and drag the movie onto the timeline (the timeline or where to edit the movie). After that, open the subtitle creation menu and select the desired font. Write subtitles, drag them to the right movie scene, and repeat.
- You can right-click the subtitle text and copy and paste it so you don't have to adjust the subtitle subtitle settings every time you create it. This can save time.
- The only downside to this format is that you have to create a new movie file. That way, you can't disable subtitles because they're already part of the movie file.
