Vector and raster images are different, although in general the differences between the two types of images are not easy to see. A vector image is an image based on computer geometry and uses the X and Y axes, so that the image can be enlarged or reduced for print, web, or graphic design purposes. A raster, or bitmap, image is made up of a collection of pixels, and is not very sharp when zoomed in. You can turn a photo or image into a vector by redrawing the image and creating a vector version that can be enlarged and reduced without compromising quality.
Step
Method 1 of 3: Using the "Vectorizer" Site
Step 1. Use this method if you are not experienced in design
There are various sites that can convert PNG, BMP, JPEG or-g.webp
Step 2. Save the PNG, BMP, JPEG or-g.webp" />
Step 3. Go to a popular vectorization site
Look for sites like Vectorization.org, Vectormagic.com or Autotracer.org, or enter “vectorization website” in a search engine.
Step 4. Click the "Upload Image" button or use the buttons on your browser to find the file on your computer
Step 5. Select the file format you want to use
The most versatile file format is PDF, but you can also save files for Adobe programs as EPS or AI files.
Step 6. Wait for the redrawing process to complete
This process will take a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the complexity of the file.
Step 7. Try the suggested settings to change the color, level of detail, and other parts of the image
You may notice that your image now looks like a computer image, especially if the image you uploaded is a photo.
Each online vectorization program has different options for changing the appearance of your vector images before they are downloaded. You might want to try some other program if you don't like the vector output of a program
Step 8. Click the "Download" button to download the resulting vector image
Save the download to the Downloads folder or desktop, then use the image like a normal vector image.
Method 2 of 3: Using Adobe Photoshop To Change Images
Step 1. Find the image you want to convert into a vector
Use images in PNG, BMP, JPEG or-g.webp
Step 2. Open Adobe Illustrator
Create a new document and save the document in AI format.
Step 3. Go to the File menu, then select “Place
” Find the image you want to use and place the image above the document.
Step 4. Click on the image
Click the Object menu, then select "Tracing Options". The following are options you may want to change when redrawing:
- Set Threshold. A higher number means that more of the dark areas will be converted to black and the lighter areas will be converted to white. When you redraw an object, it is converted to a black-and-white image.
- Add a "Blur" option if you need to smooth out the edges of the mabar.
- Select the appropriate Path Fitting option. The lower the number, the tighter the image will be redrawn. The image will look broken if this number is set too low, but if this number is set too high, your image will lose detail.
- Set Minimum Area. This option allows you to remove parts of the image that will not be part of the vector image.
- Set the Corner Angle. The lower the value, the sharper the corners of the image in the re-draw.
Step 5. Click “Save Preset
” to save the settings for later repair.
Step 6. Remove the elements that should be detached from the image
Right-click on the group, then select "Ungroup". Use the Knife tool to cut anchor points that are attached to each other.
Step 7. Use Smooth to reduce the number of anchor points in your vector image
Add elements, colors, and textures just like a regular vector image.
Step 8. Save the image
Now, you can convert the image to another format and use it as a vector file.
Method 3 of 3: Using Adobe Photoshop To Change the Sketch
Step 1. Find the image you want to convert into a vector -- usually, it's an image that you want to enlarge but is too low in quality
You can also scan pictures or paintings to a computer with a scanner.
If you are scanning the image to a computer, increase the contrast so that the image is easily redrawn
Step 2. Download the image to your desktop or a dedicated image folder
Step 3. Create a new Adobe Illustrator file, then select "File" > "Place" to insert the image/photo into the program
Make sure the image covers almost the entire screen so details can be worked out carefully.
Step 4. Add a new layer above the image with the Layers palette
Lock the first layer by clicking on the little square padlock icon. Your drawing will be intact as you work.
Step 5. Go back to the top layer, then click Pen
Now, you'll start redrawing your image so that it's vectorized and sharp.
Step 6. Select a starting point to start the drawing
Choose a line thickness that matches the line you want to redraw. The line in front must be thicker than the line in the background.
Always use black lines and a white background in this process. Ana can change the color later
Step 7. Click the starting point of the image with your cursor
Click the second point at the end of the straight line to create a line. Make a curved line by clicking the second point and dragging the line until the line is the same shape as the curve in the image.
Use the tools to adjust the Bezier curve. This curve can be adjusted at will
Step 8. Press "Shift" to release Bezier once you are ready to continue drawing
Step 9. Continue the same process until the outline of the image is complete
Make as few dots as possible, but make the dots as close to the picture as possible. You will be able to do it smoothly after practice.
Step 10. Separate parts of the image into elements
You can put these elements together later. Add color when you're done. You can add color on the same or different layers.
Step 11. Go back to the first layer, open the layer, then delete it when you're done making changes
Save the image in a vector format, such as AI or EPS, and use the image to scale.
